From his balcony, Ryan saw a delivery van stop at the pink house down the street. A young man stepped out with a small plant and hurried to the front door. “Is that it?” Ryan wondered. The plant had looked larger online. Usually, an assistant would have taken care of this, but Ryan didn’t want any word of this getting around as it could give the wrong impression. What about the impression he was making with that plant? While his plan was to stroll over after it was delivered, that puny plant just made him look cheap. When he saw April open the door, he started down the stairs and toward the house. This was his chance to see how she lived and meet her mother again.
