Chapter 20 It had been foolish to try and drive all the way home to Cornwall without stopping for a meal or a pee break. But John needed to get to Mitch and Teddy. He’d spoken with Mitch every night on the phone, but it wasn’t the same as holding and being held by the big man, or his bear. John had told Mitch it would take him about a month to close down his life in London. He needed to serve out his notice at work, put the flat on the market, have the meters read. The list was seemingly endless. He’d already done all he could from Cornwall by post and over the phone. But a good deal of it had had to be attended to in person.
