With her birthday slowly approaching Stella's plan of escaping became more real as she started saving money.
She searched for places that she could go and how she would get there.
She needed a lot of money if she was going to survive out there.
"Stella can you please help me with my home work, it's so hard I can't understand."
Her younger brother baged in the room. His name was Andrea, he was 15 years old.
He was really tall for his age but was really skinny. He had a medical condition that made him behave like a 7 year old boy.
He was a very kind boy and loved Stella very much, she loved him just as much and was always there for him.
"Come here my baby, what's hard for you I will help you."
Looking at her younger brother she felt bad about leaving him. He meant a lot to her and couldn't imagine being away from him.
Out of all the miserable people in her life, her mum, brother and friend Gabby would be the people she would miss the most but leaving was best.
She was tired of how she was being treated and needed to go away and start her life from scratch.
After some few days her father returned from a work trip.
He traveled a lot because of his job and whenever he came home he brought nice gifts for everyone home.
His name was Rob Lashviled, he was tall, with broad shoulders and quite handsome.
He had blue eyes and a deep voice that most of the kids would fear whenever he shouted.
" I missed you all so much and I brought gifts for all of you."
He handed out the gifts to everyone and for Stella he brought her a beautiful diary with her name on it.
"Wow daddy thank you so much I love the book." She spoke with so much excitement.
"You most welcome." Rob loved all his children but with Stella he was a bit distant.
She felt that most of the time and once she asked her mum but the mum told her it was just her imagination and that the father loved them all equally.
One Saturday morning while doing her chores Stella suddenly felt a sharp sound in her ears followed by sounds that sounded like multiple voices speaking in her mind.
She gave out a loud scream before falling to the ground and lost consciousness.
Everyone ran downstairs to see what had happened after hearing the loud scream.
Looking at Stella on the floor the mother ran towards her with so much fear.
"Stella wake up sweetheart what happened, Stella please talk to mummy say something."
Mary cried out while calling her daughter, Rob lifted her up carried her to the car and drove her to the hospital with the mother while the rest of the kids remained home.
After hours of a series of tests, the doctors still didn't know what the problem was.
Eventually Stella woke up and screamed as though one who woke up from a night mare.
"It's okay my baby, mummy's hear don't worry everything will be fine."
Mary ran to her daughter and embraced her.
The doctors failed to explain exactly happened for her to lose consciousness and all her vitals were stable so they discharged her.
They were given a review date that they would come for a check up just to see that she was fine.
" Rob we have to do something am really scared, I don't want to lose my child let's do something before it's too late."
" It's already late there is nothing we can do, I told you this would happen but you refused to listen to me."
Stella overhead her parents speaking and wondered if it was because of her becoming unconscious.
Her mother's face had so much worry and fear that Stella had never seen on her.
Her mother was always brave and never let things get to her but this time it seemed she was falling apart.
Stella had been sick several times before but this time it was different and she wondered why.
With only 5 days to her 18th birthday Stella was in her room counting how much money she had saved for herself once she escaped.
She had already decided the place she would go and with the money she had she would survive staying in a motel for at least a month until she found a job.
She couldn't help it but smile and be happy that she would finally leave that place for a fresh start.
She finally snapped out of her thoughts when she heard a car pulling into their drive way.
A certain lady came out of the car and Stella couldn't help but notice how strange she looked and wonder who she was.
As she walked towards the front door they suddenly locked eyes with Stella and she felt a strange feeling as she quickly closed the curtains.
Her parents came out to meet the lady and they spoke for over an hour outside before they entered in the house.
She suddenly heard footsteps coming up the stairs heading for her room.
She quickly ran to the bed and pretended to be reading a novel.
Her mum walked in and sat down on the bed next to Stella, she had teary eyes.
" Stella there is someone downstairs who has come to see you."
Stella was worried about why the mum looked so scared and sad and who the person was that came to see her.
" Mum what's wrong, why do you look so sad."
Her mother simply embraced her and whispered to her.
"No matter happens you must know that I love you and will always love you."
This confused Stella even more, of course she knew her mum loved her but what was worrying the mother.
She followed the mother downstairs and as she walked in the living room she saw the father sitted on the chair opposite the lady who had just arrived.
She sat next to her father and mother.
She once again locked eyes with the lady and felt the same strange feeling it was neither bad nor good just strange.
" How are you doing Stella."
As the lady greeted her she couldn't help but notice how strange the lady was.
She had green eyes, red hair and was of average height and weight.
She spoke like an old woman in a young woman's body, she looked in her mid 30s but spoke like someone in her 60s.
Her body was also bend as though she was really old and couldn't be up straight.
Stella was pulled away from her thoughts as she heard her father speaking.
"Stella we have something very important to tell you and we hope you will understand."
Stella wondered what exactly was happening, what was so important that the parents wanted to talk to her about and who the strange lady was.
Little did Stella know that her entire life was about to take a drastic turn.
