Meeting Him

1813 Words
I could still remember all that happened Last night, my dad made that night unforgettable but I'm not going to let his ego ruin my efficacy. Today's a new day and I plan on living it to the fullest. It's the Gala of the season , one where all the billionaires attend and if you ask me I think it's selfish, a Gala, just for billionaires, I never fancy going to these Galas because of all the people my dad pushes me to talk to, but I have a feeling this one is going to be memorable so I'm looking forward to it. People at these Galas never give a s**t about each other, they just come to gossip about the "friends" they consider poor and to drink expensive champagne, so I usually just stay out on the balcony until it's time to go home. I think it's time to go shopping for a gown to wear and while I'm at it I'll shop for puppy accessories for Princess. I got dressed, brushed Princess's fur and headed to the car. Carl and I  talked all the way to the mall that I lost track of time, I guess it true what people say "Time flies when your having fun." A fancy limousine was parked in the VIP space but I can't tell who's it is or who's inside, I know it looks familiar but the name won't slide off my tongue. I bypassed the fact that I may or may not know who's car it is and made my way inside the building. There were so many toys to choose from but I had to get an evening gown first before they're all bought out, around this time of year all the nice dresses tend to disappear because of the Gala and I won't have my dad going on another tirade because I wasn't accommodating or I wasn't dressed to impress the crowd. Choosing a dress is the easy part for me but it's trying to be nice to the crowd that's the hard part. My dad expects me to be nice to them and I'm always nice but they push me to the edge to flip sometimes. They're all just being nice to me because of my dad's wealth, if I was some kid in which they consider poor then I'd be a stranger to them. Finally I reached a boutique that fits my liking. This place is exquisite, nice dresses and they don't expose too much of the body, just right for me. I made my way to the first rack of gowns but didn't see anything that catches my eye. But what I did see was a employee, so I  gave her a description as to what I'm looking for "Something a little sparkly, in pink and screams fashion." She then point me in the direction of another rack of gowns and let me tell you I immediately ran over because they were so dazzling to my eyes. But one dress in particular caught my eyes. It was a beautiful Off shoulder blush pink gown, which looked as if it was a vintage Quinceanera and was so beautifully laced up from the back. Nothing looked as perfect as this dress, all I have to do now is try it on, I hope it fits because this is the perfect dress. The dress fits perfectly I had nothing left to worry about so I payed for the dress, left the store and made my way to the store next door for puppy accessories and they had a lot of cute items. Their store was basically saying "Not only humans can look good, we can be fashionable too" and that's basically what I plan on doing for Princess, making her look fashionable,. So I got her a home sweet home plush bed, which as you may can tell is in the color pink "my favorite color." I got her a Frisco plush and a rope bundle dog. I needed Princess to feel at home so I also got her a zampa pet folding playpen, a bling pink Rhinestone PU leather crystal diamond collar and a puppy double dinner bowl with princess engraved on the outside. To top off my shopping I got princess the best food there is "Snickerdoodle puppy chow along with Dark chocolate puppy chow." It was so fun shopping that I lost track of time, I never get to shop for anyone but myself - my dad hired me a "personal shopper" in which I don't need, so I hardly get to shop for myself but it was fun shopping for Princess, it somehow made me feel normal. It was almost time to go to the Gala so I made my way to the cashier and payed for the items. I then headed back to the car and the limousine was still there which made me cringe because I felt like the person inside was somehow watching me. I was like 45 minutes away from my house so I'll have enough time to get to the Gala on time. I rushed to the bathroom and ran some hot water, threw a little epsom salt and soap inside the tub to make me relax. After a few minutes I got out the tub and dried myself, I made my way to the dressing room and did my hair in a pretty Chignon bun style, I put on the brightest red lipstick I have and a pair of dangly gold earrings. I looked at the dress on the rack and was completely stunned all over again, I slightly pulled the lacing on the back of the dress, to make it easier to put it on without creasing it, I looked in the mirror and thought to myself "I've never looked more beautiful." I slid on a pair of sliver sparky heels and made my way to the kitchen. I had to fill Princess's Bowl with food and water before leaving, I mixed both chows into one side of the bowl and poured water into the other side, I kissed her on the forehead and made my way to the car. Only when I got outside it wasn't a car anymore, it was a limousine and my dad was riding with me. "Well, this night should be fun" I thought to myself, obviously in a sarcastic manner. The outing wasn't far away from my house but I was dying to get out of the car. But no need to worry no longer because we're finally here. The place is beautiful I'll give them that, and it looks fun this year but I hope it's as fun as it looks, although I don't mind if it's fun or not because I'll be out on the balcony the whole time but it'll be nice to have fun at this thing for once, I mean I didn't dress up all dandy for nothing. As soon as I entered the building I felt as if I was the talk of the room. But I didn't mind them one bit, but what did caught my eye was this handsome guy across the hall. He was dressed in the most elegant way possible, black and white tux and a black bow tie. I looked across the hall and our eyes made four "should I smile, turn away or just run" my Brain was like malfunctioning. I composed myself and moved from the walkway, I tried to muster up the courage to go over and I say hi but I couldn't, so I went to get a fruit punch to calm my nerves. It's like seeing him intimidates me. Maybe I'll see him later this afternoon but for now I have to find my dad, as he states, "I have to say hi to some of his friends." I greeted Mr. Howard, the owner of a multi-billion tech company called "Progression Technology." I also greeted Mr. Galloway and Mr. Mackenzie the owners of an airline. I greeted many other people but none worth mentioning. After greeting so many people I felt exhausted, so I went to the balcony to breath in the cool nights air. And to my surprise I found the guy I locked eyes with earlier on that same balcony. My stomach became filled with butterflies and my chest tightened, #I-Got-A-Knot-In-My-Stomach. It looked as if he was flustered too but I could hardly tell. I broke the silence by saying "What's a guy like you doing out here, shouldn't you be enjoying the Gala", "I should be the one asking you that........" he pause as if he was waiting for me to tell him my name. "Kyra....Kyra Glen" I added. He repeated himself "I should be the one asking you that Ms. Glen." The butterflies started to flutter harder inside my stomach as he said my name, the way he said "Ms. Glen" had me dizzy. I composed myself and smiled before asking him for his name. "Liam, Liam Bailey" he replied, well it's nice to meet you Mr. Bailey but you still haven't answered my question. He chuckled before saying "well these events aren't really my scene and I seem to be allergic to fake rich people", you and me both. We both spent the rest of the night talking and looking at the stars and honestly, I have no idea what we talked about, all I know is that I enjoy his company and we managed to talk the whole night inspite not knowing anything about each other. ☺️ It was time to go home and honestly I missed his company already, he makes me feel like a regular girl, he makes me want to be myself, I feel safe and free around him. I just hope I had the same effect on him as he did on me. We hugged each other before departing, but not before he could ask me on a date, "I guess that answers my question" I thought to myself, maybe I did have an effect on him after all. I made my way to the limousine with the biggest smile on my face. I felt great, I knew tonight's Gala was going to be memorable but I didn't expect it to be this memorable. As I got home, I fell to the bed remembering everything that happened tonight, from greeting fake rich people, to meeting the most significant person I've ever met. My heart fluster as I picture him inside my mind, his perfectly sculpted face and perfectly chiseled chin, and those lips. I stopped thinking about Liam for a second in order to change out of my gown and into my nightwear. I curled into bed and switched off the nightlight. ✨ "The way tonight's been, I have no doubt that I'll have the most extraordinary dream tonight."
