When I came to my grandmother, she was wrapping up my injuries.
"Thanks, grandma. Where is everyone? Is everyone okay? Did you get Tiny?
"Woah, slow down, my little warrior, one question at a time.
“Everyone is o
When I came to my grandmother, she was wrapping up my injuries. k; they are in the van with your grandfather." We did get Tiny back, but she is still unconscious. We are about to head out shortly. I am going to ride with Ryan. Do you think you’re up to moving to the other van, or do you want to rest her longer?
“I got it, grandma; go ahead with Ryan.”
I got up from my position with a little help from one of the medics to move towards the van she pointed out earlier to me. They had already put Tiny in the back seat. Darren is in the front seat with his head against the window. John had just finished getting patched up and is now sitting in the van beside me. He looks a lot better than he did 20 minutes ago. Grandpa Charlie climbed into the driver’s seat and told us that our grandmother would be riding in one of the medic vans with Ryan. I decided to get some rest for the rest of the trip to our grandpas’ territory.
I woke up while we were pulling into the territory. I tapped John awake, and he looked pretty much healed. I asked him how he was feeling, and it told me he was feeling good but a little stiff. Darren just woke up from the front seat, and he looks a lot better. I guess that all we needed was some good rest. We pulled up in front of our grandparents’ mansion, behind the van that our grandmother was in. The other van pulled to the back to escort the men that were captured during the fight to the dungeons.
Everyone hops out of the van except for Tiny, who is still cold. I am starting to get worried about what they gave her because wolfsbane should have worn off by now. It looks like our papa is thinking the same thing since he has the doctor waiting for us at the front door. He pulls her out of the van, and he and the doctor rush her to the clinic in the lower part of the mansion. John and Darren go with him, and I go to check on Ryan, whose grandma had already moved to the clinic.
I visited Ryan first when I got to the room; he was already up fussing at the nurse, wanting to know when he could leave.
“Cut the lady a break, Ryan," he says, looking over at me. “Come on, Damion, you know I hate hospitals. Besides, I am feeling fine. Midnight has already healed me.”
The nurse tells him he can not leave until the doctor says he can, and right now, he is with our sister.
As soon as the word "sister" leaves her mouth, Ryan is already on his feet, trying to remove the IV from his hand.
The nurse is in full panic mode. I tell everyone to calm down. I asked the nurse if she could just take the IV out of his hand before he did any damage. There is nothing she can say or do to stop him.
She just sighs and takes the IV out of his hand. As soon as it is, we are out the door.
John POV
What the hell did they give her? How is she still out? I whisper and yell at my grandpa.
Kid, if I only knew the doctors are still running tests to see if they can combat it, I know it’s frustrating, but these things take time, Grandpa Charlie said.
I breathe out in frustration. I know this whole situation is frustrating.
First, the incident at Tiny’s school, then the attack on the way here. Someone is making a move on Tiny, and I have no idea who, and that has Somil on edge.
What incidents occurred in school? Grandpa asked.
I tell him about how Tiny punched the mayor’s daughter in the face, knocked her out, and broke her jaw. The girl’s boyfriend is James, King Julian's son.
"Ahhh!!!! I know the little creep, " my grandpa cut in
Well, he didn't like the fact that Tiny beat up his girlfriend, so he tried to attack. Tiny pretty much beat him up, so he had his friends jump in to help him.
"Where the hell were the teachers?" Grandpa shouted.
That’s why they fought for about an hour, and no one came to stop them.
"That fishy,"Grandpa, Charlie, responded.
"I know," I told him.
"What did James do to set Tiny off like that?" Grandpa Charlie asked me.
"He assaulted Jess and then lied to his little skank and told her Jess came on to him, and they jumped her."
"Oh, dear, is Jess okay?" Grandpa Charlie asked.
He and Grandma Phillis look at Jess like she is one of their grandkids. She is fine; she had to stay in the hospital for a couple more weeks, but I don’t think she is going to be in there that long.
Why do you think that? Grandpa asked.
Because she found her mate, I told him.
"SHE WHAT? WHO? Do we know him?"
"Calm down, Grandpa. Give me a minute to answer the first question."
"She is my mate." I tell him, beaming from ear to ear. He tells me he is happy for me, gives me a hug, and tells me I couldn’t have asked for a better mate. I agree with him.
Just then, Ryan and Damion come bursting through the doors, firing questions.
after the question. Grandpa told them to calm down and quiet down.
I told them we were still waiting for the tests to come back. They both nod and have a seat. I asked Ryan what he was doing here, and he told me he was fine, and Midnight healed him. I told him he should still be resting, and he told me how I expected him to rest when Tiny is in danger.
I could only sigh and agree, and just then my grandma and Darren returned. I asked where they went. Darren told me to go talk to dad.
