Ethan's POV She fell asleep on his floor. He noticed the exact moment it happened — the slight change in her breathing, the way her head dropped incrementally toward his shoulder before she caught herself, then dropped again, and this time didn't catch. He sat very still and let her sleep. He didn't move for a long time. The city outside was doing its nighttime thing — distant, indifferent, the ambient hum of a place that had no opinion about what was happening in this particular living room.
