It had been four days since they had seen the girl at the park, yesterday they had stayed out later than was safe to see, this morning they were earlier than normal to see if she accompanied by the vampires. They made their way home so Thomas could record their lack of findings.
"She isn't coming back is she?" Conner said in frustration.
Thomas speculated there were probably a lot of reasons why she had stopped walking the dog, maybe Conner had scared her off. Thomas didn't like to speculate on it too much.
"I'll go early tomorrow again to see if she comes back." Conner said more to himself than the other man.
"I wouldn't bother," said Thomas, "It's never been clear to me what the benefit is for them, having the girl around."
