PUG NOSE

Once upon a time, there was a seven-year-old girl living in Singapore. Her name was Elaina Debnath, a half Filipina. Among her classmates, she's the only one who looks different and it makes her feel unhappy because her classmates often bully her. One day, as she was crying, a young boy found him at the back of their classroom.

“Hey, are you alright? What happened? Why are you crying?” The young boy asked with a concerned tone while gently tapping the little girl's back.

The girl turned to look at him and speak, “Because I'm ugly.” She was continuously sobbing and the young boy released a slight laugh.

“Who told you that?” He asked her again.

“No one but look at my flat nose? This is why my crush teased me. He was calling me ‘pug nose’.” She annoyingly screamed before pouting and the boy pitied the young girl.

The young boy took his phone out and calmly looked for the cutest picture of a pug online.

“Hey? Look at this pug!?” He smiled and showed her the picture.

Her eyes widened, “Is this a pug? Oh, that was so cute!” She was very surprised and she couldn't believe what she had just seen.

The moment she stopped, the young boy wiped her tears before speaking.

“See? You're not ugly!” he said.

The girl immediately gave her a tight hug.

“Does it mean my crush thinks ‘I'm cute’? Thank you for showing me this. Now, I understand that I am special.”

From that day forward, Elaina started to enjoy studying and she was so proud of having a unique nose from everyone.

In her school, whenever her classmates called her, ‘pug nose’, instead of getting hurt by that, she took it as a compliment by thanking them.
