“Hey Beautiful!” I was suddenly embarrassed because of what someone from behind said.
I didn't turn around because I wasn't sure that he was really referring to me. I'm scared that all the people here at this event will think I'm assuming.
I was about to speed up my walk when that handsome guy suddenly blocked me and asked, “Hey, are you alright?"
"I've been calling you.” He added.
I gave him a confused look. “Wait? Are you serious?”
"I'm not even beautiful, like her.” I told him, pointing to his gorgeous muse.
I was surprised when he laughed, which made me feel uncomfortable. “Yes, you're right!”
The attention of all the people turned on us. I wanted to run and cry because I felt too much shame.
But I didn't expect he would pull me to him and say, “You're not beautiful like her, because you're beautiful like you.”
After that night, I couldn't sleep at all. I realized that he was right—I shouldn't compare my appearance to anyone because we all have different kinds of beauty. So if you are like me and not confident enough, it's now time for you to change. Avoid comparing yourself to others; appreciate and embrace your own beauty instead.
