I left Breena feeling a lot more confident, believing in myself even more. She didn't question my reasons or try to talk me out of it. That meant more to me than she would have realised. I know Patrick's reason for keeping me hidden is that he wants to protect me, but it can be smothering and it always makes me feel like he has no belief in me or my powers. A few hours into my run, the rain begins to fall. I feel like it slows me down, the heavy pour blurring my vision and soaking through my fur. I feel heavier and cold. The bag I carry in my maw gets soaked too, making it heavier. I pray that the clothes won't be completely destroyed. The only good thing about the rain is that it will mask my scent; I hope to pass through as many territories as possible, unnoticed. In the late afternoon
