Chapter 21–Nadine’s POV
I shut the door behind me and sank into the chair, grinning so wide that my cheeks hurt. Today had gone exactly as I wanted. The announcement of the Engagement. The acknowledgement from the board member.
The way everyone clapped and hailed me politely while I smiled like I won a lottery. I almost laughed aloud. Because, in truth, I actually did.
I grabbed my phone and dialed all my friends at once, tossing it onto the speaker so I could hear the chaos unfold.
