Chapter 63_Author’s POV
Today is the party day. All the influential people invited by matteo were all sitting. Moana and Nadine sit beside each other.
At the center of it all stood Ashton, in his tailored suit, his expression a carefully balanced mask of composure. His father, Matteo, had taken it upon himself to repeatedly introduce him to influential guests, his voice booming with pride. “This is my son,” he proclaimed to the assembled titans of industry, “the mind behind our most successful deals this year.”
The room applauded with each introduction. Glasses were raised to the toast. People nodded in approval with what Matteo said. And all the while, Ashton was furious with every word his father spoke.
He hated being paraded. Hated being made into a symbol of pride for someone else’
