Kayla   The bright lights of the news station felt far too harsh for this early in the morning. Honestly, I wanted to be literally anywhere else—I’d even take Grace’s cold cell over this. But I couldn’t. It had to be done, and I had no say in the matter.   So I sat in the leather chair with my legs crossed, my hands folded neatly in my lap, and a perfect, placid little smile on my face.   Nicholas was sitting right next to me, his arm draped casually along the back of my chair as usual, and somehow he made the whole thing look easy. Relaxed. Like he actually belonged here, soaking up the attention like a sponge.
