Introduction
We are very pleased to bring you this new edition of Fire in Their Hearts. It was co-authored by two of our talented authors many years ago and was first published in 2011 by our good friend, Tina Gerow and her company Sapphire Blue Publishing. For reasons unrelated to the success of her company the rights reverted to the authors and the publishing rights to the book was then granted to Champagne Books who published the book in 2013. What you see now is a revised version proudly published by 53rd Street Publishing.
The book is a historical western romance set in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1886, a banner year for the city. It is the year Vancouver was incorporated and the year the railroad was pushed through to its new terminus in Vancouver. It is also the year half the city burned to the ground. As I said a banner year.
While the story is purely fiction the historical events surrounding the railroad and the fire are not. We hope you will read and enjoy this tale of adventure, danger, and romance on the western edge of civilization in Canada in the 19th century.
