Sophia's POV.
The tension in the air was fully rising when I asked that question, as I was not sure of the kind of response I was supposed to expect from him. He was also silent at that moment, and it was not helping matters either, as deep down within me I knew that whatever response he was going to give me was not going to change the way that I saw him. I did not know what he was going to say, but I knew that whatever it was he wanted to say would be a blow, and I was preparing myself to hear it.
"Tell me, Damian, what happened to your father?" I asked him again when he would not say a word after I asked him the first time, and slowly he stood up from where he was seated on the chair and began to walk towards the window in the study.
