Steve—who was at least former CIA Special Activities Division, if not former Special Operations Group (he wasn’t saying)—looked completely normal. Blond-haired, blue-eyed, Steve embodied the friendly guy next door who was glad to lend you his lawnmower. And the instant talk shifted from introductions to operations, the change had swept over him—pure business.
