Aria's POV
I never thought a casual night could change my life so quickly. It started with an ordinary night at a downtown bar.
I went there during the weekend, and I enjoyed disco party music and a lively atmosphere.
I took this action to ease my pain and forget my past. I sneaked out of the pack without informing anyone, just to have an unforgettable experience.
A lot of people were dancing while some were chilling and discussing excitedly within themselves, but I sat on my own, gulping several bottles of beer. Feeling a bit drunk, I sat down at the barstool where a stranger approached me.
“Hello Miss, you look drunk. Can I be of help to you?" He stated, introducing himself as Liam.
"No thank you. I'm fine” I politely declined.
"You don't look fine. Are there any issues that triggered you to drink to stupor?"
"That's none of your business. I'm fine. Leave me alone!”
"Sorry for being too interrogative. May I know your name?”
"I'm Aria." I replied, sighing sharply while sipping the leftover content of the last bottle of beer on my table.
"What a nice name for a beautiful princess like you," his words caught my attention. His dark and charming eyes drew me close to him as I whispered to his ears.
“Tell me. Why are you here?” I poured more bottles of drink into my glass as I questioned him.
He quickly interrupted, forcing the drink from my grip but I was no match for his strength.
“Stop drinking. You need to have some break from this!" He ordered.
His words got me more intoxicated, which led me falling from the barstool. He held me as I leaned my hand on his shoulder.
“I got you." He said, with a smile etched around his chin, as he pulled me up to himself.
“You look caring and cute." I complimented his kindness. He thanked me in return, leading me to the lodge room which he had paid for.
As we entered the lodge room, I felt really fatigued, unaware of what was happening around me.
He carried and placed me on the bed, switched off the light and undressed himself. What ever happened after then was unknown to me.
We ended up spending the night together. It was electrifying, but I thought it would be just one thing.
Little did I know this brief encounter would alter my figure in an unimaginable way.
The next day, I woke up with the sound of the alarm bell on my phone which brought to my consciousness checking the time and finding out it was 7am.
“So I spent the night here?" I mumbled beneath my breath, trying to figure out what had happened the previous night, but when I realized I was naked, I screamed and covered myself with the blanket, wondering who I'd spent the night with.
After much contemplation, I looked beside me and all I could see was a gold wristwatch.
This was an indication that I spent the night with a man, a stranger I knew nothing about.
His jobs, address or even his contact were unknown to me. The only thing I could remember was his name — Liam.
“Liam!" I said, gripping the wristwatch while I dressed up, heading back to the pack, to meet Lena, my close friend. I believe she would have sought for me the previous night.
On getting to Lena's house, I slammed the door in anticipation, longing to see her. She came out, opened the door and walked me in.
“What's wrong Aria? You looked worried."
“Yes I'm worried. I need to find Liam."
“Liam? Who's Liam?" She asked, her face etched with confusion.
“The man I met in the bar last night." I mumbled beneath my breath.
"You went to the bar? I even thought you ran out of the pack because I was looking for you, and now you're asking of Liam. Who is Liam? What happened to him?" She asked, still looking confused.
“He had a one night stand with me."
"You did what? Tell me this is not true, I guess he's just a stranger."
At the moment, I paused pondering on what to do next. My body went cold and my temperature rose to a certain degree which sent a shocking wave in my spine, leaving me nervous.
“Aria!" She called, snapping me out of my daze and back to reality.
“Are you sure you're really fine?"
“I think I'm suffering from a slight headache."
"So what do we do now? How do we trace him?”
Her question sparked an idea of my next step.
“Let's go back to the bar where I met him. I believe the bartender or hostess should have some record of him."
"That's a brilliant idea. Let's act fast then."
We flagged down a taxi and headed back to the bar. When we arrived, we went inside and approached the bartender to ask him some questions.
“Excuse me. How may I help you?" The bartender looked at us, expectantly waiting to take our order.
“Sorry. We are not here for a drink. Maybe next time. Do you know anyone by the name...Liam? The dark skinned man... charming eyes. Do you know anybody like that? I met him here the previous night."
The bartender burst out laughing at my description.
“I don't think I know anyone like that either. Although there are different Liam with the same description, I'd recommend you try reaching out to him on the phone."
Lena and me exchanged a worried glance as she replied to him.
“We don't have his contact. If we do, we wouldn't have been here in the first place."
“Maybe you met a perfect stranger then. I would have loved to help, but we don't keep records of people. We only keep records of transactions."
“Ok. Thanks anyway for your concern. I think we should take our leave."
Lena spoke up as we were about to leave. The bartender's words suddenly caught our attention.
“Wait! Maybe you can leave your contact with me when I see someone like him. I will put a call through or possibly you can check back here this weekend, you may see him."
She gave us good advice, so we thanked her and exchanged contact info before departing. My heart kept panting heavily it was like electric sending shock waves all around my body.
As the day went on, I started feeling dizzy, my body froze up with fear, and so I went to the hospital for a check- up, to know what was really happening.
My heart raced in fear, different thoughts came banging my head, hoping I wasn't pregnant.
The doctor told me to come back in a week to get the test results. I was overwhelmed by the words of the doctor who created a scenario of suspension with unrest expectations.
A few weeks later, I was shocked as the thoughts of a positive pregnancy test stunned me, causing me to wonder how a single night could have such life-altering consequence.
