   How could her father do this to her? Adalynn thought as she pulled on the ropes binding her wrist to the captains bed. Her husband Angus Campbell would be back soon to punish her more for leaving him. What was she supposed to do wait to die a painfully slow death. She had thought her family would save her, Oh how wrong she had been. She could still see her fathers face as her husband loaded her into his carriage. He had been disgusted and angry. Her since of self preservation was the only thing keeping her alive at the moment. She had been tied to this bed for four days now covered in her own filth and her body bruised from head to toe. she could hear thunder in the distance and prayed they all went down in the storm. Boots walked up to the door and Adalynn knew it was her devil of a husband. The cabin door opened and there he stood his dark brown hair framed his face a few strands fell into his deep brown eyes. He smiled and it made her skin crawl. " You soiled yourself you filthy bitch." He pulled Adalynn's hair making her look up at him. " I am sorry Angus." she mumbled as she tried to hide her shame and her tears. He untied the robe and pulled her to her feet. Her legs weak from days of sitting and standing in one place. "Get up. A storm is coming and you my wayward wife will sit it out tied to the mast." Angus jerked her hard, the rope cutting into her skin. she stumbled after him. " I promise I will never leave again. Please Angus." she screamed as he tied her hands arms hugging the mast. lighting light the sky and Adalynn jumped. Angus laughed at her fear his smile deepening onto his face. He slapped her hard causing her ears to ring. the storm raged washing her legs out from under her. she could feel the ropes becoming loose as she pulled on them. soon her wrist was free and she looked around her. Seeing no one she crawled to the railing and jumped hoping she would either survive or meet a quick death.
