23. Port ShaleFrom the lookout above the town, Sabienn cast his eye out over Port Shale. It was early morning and the Port had the same air of disarray and despair as Port Tyla, the port where they’d left Hayddland a week ago. At first glance, he saw many fishing boats in dock but there weren’t many out in the sea pulling fish from the Turrland Strait. The main industry here seemed to be the movement of people. Looking back at the road they’d just arrived on, Sabienn remembered the events of the past day. Dane’s D-Boat found safe berth at the jetty of Chatter’s house and with the assistance of Teyer, the boat people helped themselves to the goods and chattels of a rich man’s house. They stripped the premises of food and clothing and Sabienn saw two-thirds of them lounging around the pool
