The Slip

“20 minutes into the game and Allen had just thrown yet another epic surf maneuver!" The announcer announces. This is bad. Eric has managed to score over the other two, but he has to win against Allen to actually win this. Why exactly was he competing anyways? “Rick seems to have something cooking up his sleeve just sticking with basic moves." He added, “He's going for the Alley Oop– and he nails it!" He concluded in amusement, then everyone cheered, me inclusive. I didn't realize when the urge took me. “Victor also seems to be-" The announcer said, but paused once the person he was trying to praise dropped into the ocean. He really shouldn't have tried to imitate Ric. “Hoo!" Everybody chorused in pity. “When they say envy could lead to a person's downfall, they weren't kidding." The announcer added thoughtfully. “That is it for Victor, we are down to three–" Then Raf fell off his board as well. “No, two contestants left. Left for me, I know who I'm rooting for. I just made a bet with one of the judges. I bet y'all already know as well." That's it. I'm having my first service to some annoying brat. I hate that Allen guy even more right now. Even though I didn't hate him before. But I'm still not giving up till the end though, I hear God is a miracle worker. “Whoo!" I heard the crowd scream in shock, which pulled me back to reality. Eric was attempting a re-entry, and he does. Up to the lip and back Five times before stopping. “Amazing move from the new guy. That speed. This kid's gonna give me a run for my money." The announcer laments. Well, his loss is my gain, and sorrow my joy. “That move sure threw this kid to the front roll. Lucky for him, we're running out of time." The announcer concluded acting grumpy. “Woo!" Everybody cheers again. “Our guy is attempting a barrel– He's head down under that wave." The announcer screams getting off his feet in excitement. “Go Allen, go Allen, go!" The crowd chanted excitedly. “Come on Eric." I whispered anxiously. “(Two) 5 minutes to go, and I think I might keep my money, with that judge." He announced happily. . . Eric's POV I watched him from where I rode perform the most difficult surfing technique I still hadn't managed to maneuver for up to even a Second, yet he's been head down there for a plus (Ten)10 of that. I couldn't help to think about the shame, not to mention pain that after all this, that girl's confident, and everything comes to not. No, I think it's time I pulled off th-e trick. It's a trick one of my favorite surfer pulled, and I've been on this trick for a few years, and I still haven't mastered it. But I'm not letting the bad guys win. Not anymore. The last time I did this, I strained my ankle, and had multiple fractions that didn't heal until last year. This said incident happened like four years ago while I was in my final year in highschool. I was like sixteen then, yet it took that long to heal. After that quick reminder I'm beginning to have a rethink about what I've just begun. . . “Eric just began a speed pump maneuver, what's he up to?" The announcer narrated anxiously, and everywhere went silent for a minute, as we awaited Allen return from underneath the wave, and were curious about what Eric had install for us. . . Back At The Apartment. Debbie's POV I was getting kinda homesick, so I thought to join Julia and that kid at the beach, but then the crazy b**ch suddenly stormed in. For some reason she didn't have my sis with her. “Where's Joy?" I asked confusingly. “At the beach." She replied in a carefree manner, heading to the kitchen. “Then why are you here?" I asked again furiously. She returned with a bottled water, pulled off the cap, and slopped it down her throat, before replying, “She got herself in some s**t, so she can't leave just yet." She explained. I kept quiet for while, trying to weigh my next options of speech. It could determine the future of this lunatic future relationship. “As long as nothing happens to her, you'll keep your head." I concluded, sitting my a*s back on the couch. Yah, I chose to stay calm. I'm sure she'd be fine. She is going on Seventeen (17) soon. . . I'm hoping I wouldn't be getting a gift card for my next birthday, if I were to lose that sweet luxury ride, of which I hadn't even gotten a chance to ride yet. The silence was killing me. “Eric attempts an air maneuver, and there's still no sign of Allen yet. Is he trying to break a record?" The announcer questions confusingly. Who knows? So long as he's okay. Eric does the air stuff again hanging a little longer in the air. Then he does a hop again but this time he twists himself before landing, and everyone sighed in awe. Allen finally emerges from underneath the current, slowly moving down to build up momentum. “Eric, Eric, Eric!" People began chanting, not paying attention to Allen anymore. The same people who were once chanting for the guy, now forgot in. This life can be a little funny. I feel like it flips like that maneuver every once in a while. “He didn't just-" The announcer said in amusement, “But he did. Eric just performed a Flynnstone Flip!" He pronounced in excitement. I think he forgot about the money he's gonna lose. Although that move was killer. I might not really be a big fan of the sport, since I'm 80% terrified of the ocean. But I've heard of the flip, and I think Mr Eric has been holding back on us. “Eric really got the beginners luck. I don't believe in those before, but this kid has opened my eyes." The announcer added playfully. I so wish Julia was here. “3 minute to the end!" The announcer informs. It's not over yet I guess. They both began surfing like their life depends on it. . . Eric's POV Three(3) minutes left and I began surfing like my life depended on it, cause it actually might I began attempting all the regulars I'd learnt. The other guy didn't even look stressed out yet. “Two(2) minutes more." The announcer says. . . Allen's POV I almost thought it was over for me the moment that kid attempted a Flynnstone Flip. But then I got back the crowd's attention by doing multiple tricks at once. It was tiring but I better not let my opponent notice. It was the moment the announcer announced our last minute that I realized, right in the middle of an attempt to do something epic– The Kid was fighting for something important. My surf mates really don't treat people right, perhaps he's those many innocent student's savior. I'm not gonna be the one to destroy a God chance of my friends getting to see middle class people got talents too. Also, I need those friends of mine to learn humility. . . “Oh! Allen's almost about to give a nice come back again– Oh no!" The announcer concluded in a shocked tone, and no one could say a thing, they all seemed as amused as the announcer. So, was I. I couldn't get how he managed to slip. He seemed so balanced... . . To Be Continued...
