Chapter XI I LAUGHED FOR THE entire car ride from the pub to the house. I was thoroughly drunk and, after rage, having happiness and fun get the same treatment where everything exploded between us was refreshing. We were both still chuckling long after getting home but, luckily, I did need to sleep and went to bed so no more complications caused by my alcohol-induced state arose that evening. I didn’t change, I didn’t wash up, I just crashed on the bed and fell asleep. Or pass out, whatever. I woke up under the covers and knew I had Louis to thank for that.
