AMBER'S POV I was taken aback when I saw Mr. Perault approaching us with his dark, grumpy face. My nerves kicked in immediately. How could I possibly explain why Ken was here today? I felt a wave of shame wash over me, causing me to bow my head in embarrassment. The whispers of the employees leaving the office only added to my annoyance with Ken. It seemed like nothing had changed, despite the fact that so many people did whatever they pleased. The hermit finally reached Kenneth and me, but I couldn't bring myself to look up.
