THE WEALTHY FAMILY
Chapter 10: "Home"
6 Months Later. Fu Mansion. 8:00pm.
The mansion was quiet for once.
No cameras. No lawyers. No press.
Just the sound of Ji-woo laughing from the nursery.
Ha-rin was 7 months pregnant. Sitting on the floor with pillows behind her back. Reading a picture book.
"And the superhero daddy fought the bad man," Ji-woo said, pointing at the drawing.
"Correct," Ha-rin smiled. "Then what happened?"
"The superhero daddy came home to mama and baby," Ji-woo said proudly.
The door opened.
Ji-hoon. Home early. Tie loosened. Jacket in hand.
He froze when he saw them.
His wife. His son. His daughter in her belly.
"You're staring," Ha-rin teased.
Ji-hoon dropped everything and knelt in front of her. Pressed his ear to her belly. "How’s my daughter?"
"She kicked when she heard your voice," Ha-rin whispered.
Ji-hoon’s lips curved. The real one. Not the CEO one. "She knows her appa."
"Appa!" Ji-woo launched himself at Ji-hoon’s legs.
Ji-hoon scooped him up with one arm. "Did you miss me, buddy?"
"Every minute," Ji-woo said seriously.
Ha-rin's heart melted.
---
9:30pm. After Bedtime.
Ji-woo and baby Seo-yun were asleep.
Ji-hoon and Ha-rin on the balcony. Same rooftop from Chapter 9. But this time with blankets and hot tea.
No wind. No threats. Just stars.
Ji-hoon pulled out a folder. Set it on the table between them.
Ha-rin's stomach dropped. "What is it?"
"Clause 8.1 Amendment," Ji-hoon said.
Ha-rin went cold. "Are you... ending it?"
Ji-hoon opened the folder.
Inside was not a contract.
It was a marriage certificate. Real. Government sealed.
FU JI-HOON & KANG HA-RIN. PERMANENT.
And under it, a handwritten note:
`I don't want 1 year. I don't want clauses.
I want every morning waking up to you.
I want every night coming home to you.
Marry me. For real this time. -J`
Ha-rin started crying. "Ji-hoon..."
"I meant what I said on the rooftop," he said quietly. "Contract or not. You’re the only one I want in that seat next to me."
He took her hand. Put it over his heart. "So? Will you make me the luckiest man in Seoul?"
Ha-rin nodded, sobbing. "Yes. Yes to you. Always yes."
Ji-hoon pulled her into his lap. Kissed her forehead. Her tears. Her lips.
"Thank god," he whispered. "I was so scared you’d say no."
---
3 Months Later. Small Wedding. Garden.
No press. No Tae-joon. No Soo-ah.
Just 20 people.
Madam Fu cried the whole time.
Ji-woo was the ring bearer. He took his job VERY seriously.
When the priest said "You may kiss the bride" —
Ji-hoon didn’t wait. He kissed her like the world was ending.
And when they said "I do" — Ji-woo yelled "YAY! NOW WE’RE REAL FAMILY!"
Everyone laughed.
---
1 Year Later. Family Photo Day.
Photographer: "Okay! Say cheese!"
Ji-hoon in black suit. Holding baby Seo-yun, 6 months.
Ha-rin in white dress. Hand on her hip, glowing.
Ji-woo, 6 years old, making bunny ears behind his dad’s head.
On the back of the photo later, Ha-rin wrote:
HOME IS NOT A PLACE. IT'S YOU.
Epilogue Text:
_Tae-joon was sentenced to 12 years for evidence tampering and harassment.
Soo-ah moved to LA to "find herself".
Kang Group stock hit an all-time high after CEO Fu announced his "family-first" policy.
And every night at 6pm, CEO Fu Ji-hoon left the office.
Because his real board meeting was at the dinner table._
---
FINAL SCENE. 10:00pm. Master Bedroom.
Ha-rin was reading. Ji-hoon came in, rolled up sleeves.
"Long day?" she asked.
"Long day," he said. Then climbed into bed and pulled her to him.
"You know what?" he murmured into her hair.
"What?"
"I used to think home was this mansion. The company. The name."
He kissed her temple. "I was wrong. Home is you. And our noisy kids. And this bed."
Ha-rin smiled into his chest. "Clause 8.1..."
"Burned it," Ji-hoon said. "Don’t need it anymore."
Outside, Seoul glowed.
Inside, they were home.
THE END.
