"What do you want, mother?" Iyana frowned as she pulled the door open and the woman helped herself in without her daughter's permission.
"You can't even ask how I've been since the last time we met." The woman, Freya, frowned at the nearby sofa.
The striking resemblance between both of them couldn't go by without being noticed by anyone.
Iyana rolled her eyes before slamming the door behind her shut.
"And it's because of you I'm going through all I am going through in my own home. Being rejected by my own family."
"I didn't beg you to do that mother. Do you blame me for being cursed and different from others?" Iyana yelled angrily.
She just couldn't stand this woman at all. She didn't know how she found her but she has been trying to avoid her since forever.
"Who else is to blame for you being born half stain and half werewolf that none of the communities wants you? Because of you, I'm being treated like I'm the one who's the disgusting creature." Freya rolled her eyes disgusted.
"I get treated like a maid. I get harassed and humiliated because of you. Just hand yourself over to the Alpha for punishment."
"Is it a crime to be half of both creatures? I wasn't the one cursed to have an abnormal child. I'm not the one who couldn't keep her hands to herself or her eyes. You're being humiliated for your last deeds, stop pouring all the blame on me here." Iyana slammed her fist on the kitchen counter.
"How dare you yell at me Iyana. I am your mother and I decide what's good for you. Instead of living this humiliating life and trying not to get on the bad side of each creature so you won't be killed, just hand yourself over." Freya stood up quite pissed. "It's quite simple."
"Just because I call you mother doesn't mean I still acknowledge you as my mother. You don't control my life and I've lived half of it without you in my life." Iyana pointed at her, having enough of her madness.
"You can't just walk to my front every time to tell me to give in when you are the cause of all this issue."
"You do what I ask you to do, Iyana. You're ruining my chances of getting a mate again. No one would want me while you're still alive…"
"You're so selfish and you know that yourself. Have you ever thought about me just once? Have you ever thought about how my mate will feel just once? I am not the one who was cursed, you were cursed." Iyana yelled with angry tears falling down her cheeks.
"You are the abnormal child, not me so you're the cursed one Iyana. Do I have to put you first and out my own happiness second? No. I've dealt with humiliation and discrimination for too long…"
"And do I look like I care? No I don't care because you've never once cared about me even when I was with you." Iyana clenched her fist hard trying not to scream.
"You're so ungrateful Iyana. I don't see the good in you at all…"
"Neither do I see anything in you. You're just a selfish and heartless woman who would leave her own blood and flesh to be brutally killed so she can love a life with a mate? And you call yourself a mother?"
"I never wanted to be your mother." Freya yelled in total anger with her fangs coming out and her claws. "I didn't beg to be your mother. You're just an unfortunate child who is cursed to humiliate me and make me feel rejected in my own home. The home I had before you could even dream you'll exist."
"I didn't beg you to have me either. But guess what, you did. Deal with it." Iyana barked fiercely before walking towards the door and pulling it open.
"You can take your leave now. I've had enough of you in one day and I never want to see you at my doorstep again. You don't know what I can do, mother."
"You aren't only disrespecting me, but also you're sending me out? I'm just telling you the truth, Iyana. No one would ever see you as something useful. You'll always be an outcast." Freya spat out as she stood up.
"Just leave right now before I lose my temper." Iyana pointed through the door.
"Iyana…"
"Leave." Iyana roared and thunder clapped outside and Freya had no choice but to leave. She frowned as she walked out of the house and Iyana slammed the door behind her.
"Good riddance." Iyana growled angrily as she walked into the room.
Iyana walked into the bathroom and took a shower before falling on the bed. She unlocked her phone and saw she had messages from Lynn.
"Don't forget to eat the soup you asked me to remind you about." The message said and Iyana stood up before walking into the kitchen.
She pulled out a small bowl from her fridge and poured the content into the pot over the gas cooker.
Iyana took a deep breath as she looked out at the rain which was drizzling already. She just hoped the rain would stop before she went out for her shift.
Iyana walked back to her room with the food and sat down to eat. After eating, she fell into bed and took a quick nap.
By the time she woke up, it was ten minutes to her shift and it was raining heavily outside.
"Today is not my day at all." She sighed as she stood up and dressed for her shift.
She picked her raincoat and umbrella before stepping out of the house and locking the door behind her.
"Okay, this day shouldn't get any worse." She took a deep breath before walking out of her house. She saw the old lady sitting outside in her rocking chair with blankets on her but she didn't say a word, she just walked away.
By the time Iyana got to work, her shift had already started. The doorbell jiggled as she pulled the door open and she saw her boss staring at her.
"You're late Iyana."
