The room was in worse condition than Ember had expected. Dust caked the furnitures and cobwebs stretched from the bedposts to the ceiling, the heavy curtains hung tattered, barely covering the dust coated windows. The air was thick with the scent of abandonment clinging to every surface. Caden swept his hand over the old dresser, raising it to show a layer of dust so thick it looked like soot.
