Willa Field
-.-.-.-.-.-
Ten:
Her Will
-.-.-.-.-.-
Weeks passed and the small towner was adjusting to her new life very well. Willa was worried that her past would always be lurking in the darkest places of her mind, just waiting to ruin her happiness, but they didn't:
In fact, they were nowhere to be found, it was just in the form of memories. Yes, she found it easy to live a life without her older sisters and their constant disgusted expressions. She was finally doing well, despite all the memories still ruling the back of her mind and the scars that will always be engraved in her skin and mind.
And the ginger knew the memories would help her moved on. She will use them to become even stronger and the ginger would not let the cruel people win this time.
She will show them she will move on from what they did to her, all the beatings and cruel words won't stop her from becoming the woman she was meant to be all her life. Willa will show them that she could do anything she wanted, no matter if she was disabled.
So, the group slowly folded into life as students at Asza Quie, making a lot of friends with the other magical beings, but the most memorable wasn't a magical being at all, but a mere were. The raventte were was named Lilia Sest and she was not born with any magical abilities, turning her into an outcast in the eyes of her own family.
Willa always wondered if that is why she was trying to be a mentor to the younger teen, them being outcasts in their old lives. The ginger just wanted to be a good friend and also wanted the girl to see it was okay to be different. Being different meant you are being yourself, truly yourself.
Soon, the ginger found that fact true as the black-haired beauty came into herself. And so, the young women slowly turned into a pair of odd sisters who both had a passion for singing and writing. They were enrolled in the school's glee club when the headmaster found out their skills. Slow but surely, they climbed the ladder and they became the top singers, landing the best solos.
Their relationship made it possible, strong and unbreakable, knowing that was needed in the singing world. If they let harsh jealously ruin their strong friendship, they knew that they weren't be any better than the monsters of their past.
But one was hiding something from the other, fearing both losing her new friends and the wrath of the evil queen if she clued them into her new plans. She nether wanted to be branded a traitor on both sides, knowing the outcomes from the both sides, or her silence to hurt Willa to the point of an unfixable state.
But as the days passed and her relationships had gotten stronger, Lilia knew her secret wouldn't stay a secret any longer.
-.-.-.-.-.-
Lilia stared unblinkingly at her reflection in the mirror, her warm hazel eyes swirled with conflicting thoughts, showing plainly her unsurely to the world:
She growled deeply as the brunette threw her thick hair into a low bun against her uniform's collar before moving to her bedroom's window while crossing her arms over her chest just as her mother figure, Fayra Saws, walked with a smile.
"Good morning, sweetie, how're you?"
"I'm swell." The ravenette sneered with deep sarcasm, but then she sighed as she tried to sooth a slight headache, realizing that it wasn't the pretty grey-eyed woman's fault she was at war with herself, and she turned to her.
"I'm sorry, mama. I'm having problems with being loyal to the queen." Lilia whispered truthfully, trusting her with her deadliest secret. Lilia knew Fayra wouldn't do anything to put her in danger
The older ravenette bit her lip hard while she moved to the empty spot next to her adopted daughter, tucking a stray strand behind the teenager's ear:
She didn't know how to sooth the younger brunette's worries about betraying the queen, but she also knew that Lilia needed the new group of friends she was ordered to destroy. Fayra didn't want her heart to grow dark if Lilia decided to stay silent. She didn't care if she was the queen, Fayra would do anything to protect her daughter.
So, with a big breath coming out her lips, she spoke slowly.
"Sweetie, what you need to do is follow your heart and do what you feel is right. If you don't, it might cause Willa harm."
The pretty teen bit her lip hard, fearing that she would lose everything she grained. But, her heart told her she needed to tell Willa and Adnet the truth before Calla could do anything to the beautiful fairy. She was her friend and she needed to protect her at any cause.
With a long exhaled breath, she fixed the skirt of her uniform and she nodded firmly before walking out of the house; having the confidence that was locked away deep inside of her.
Fayra smiled slightly as she watched her baby walked away, proud that, although she was afraid of the dreaded outcome of this, she would protect her friend to the point that she was endangering her life in the progress.
And the older woman knew that she and Emmet would stand by the beautiful teen no matter what she needed to do, because they loved her more than they feared the queen. They might not be her biological parents, but they saw as theirs and they will be there when she needed them.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Lilia held onto the confidence as tightly as she could, but as the day passed, it slowly faded into nerves:
Today was Wednesday, and the day passed fast with only one time that the upcoming confession, wondering how Willa will react to her news. Or even Adnet would react, she shuddered deeply at the thought as the Faen Language's teacher droned on about how different Faen was from the humans' languages.
The ravenette knew the blonde is a force to deal with when it came to the little ginger and if he thought she was a danger to her, Lilia was worried that Calla wouldn't be just the most dangerous thing to fear after the truth was out.
She sighed deeply, shaking her head, and finally went to her next class. She couldn't let those thoughts keep her from ensuring Willa safely from Calla's cruel plan.
Noon came, almost lunchtime, and her teacher Mr. Booker, a fun but harsh math teacher, was in a well enough mood to excuse the class early and the fellow students went into an excited buzz as they ran out of the room. She gave him a graceful smile and quickly gathered up her things, then exiting the small classroom. The ravenette unwillingly let her thoughts wander to the future talk that was coming, although that brought shiver along her spine.
The fears willed her eyes to water, but she fought them off with a bite of the lower lip and quickened her steps, not letting the fears get to her.
Finally Lilia reached the lunchroom without running from the school, running from the upcoming talk, but she wouldn't let her feet move towards the exit. She smiled proudly at the thought and walked up to the counter.
"Hi, you guys, how are you today? Peanut butter and jelly sandwich please?" She said in prefect Faen as she typed in her student id number.
Their heads snapped up from preparing for the lunchtime rush with smiles spread across their faces, the youngest girl with blond-brownish hair grabbed her sandwich, "My Lilia, how're you?" She said, walking towards the beautiful ravenette, and setting her lunch in her hand:
"I'm just fine Zo, and how are you holding up?" Lilia asked, pointing to her stomach. She smiled and laid a gentle hand onto it, and the younger girl tried to hide her pain, seeing a mother's love for her child.
She knew that she had Fayra and Emmet, but she still wished she had her biological parents. However, Lilia felt that the wish was feeble. They would always hate her, and she had to face that. She sighed under her breath
"Ah, we're fine, thankfully I would be off work soon. I feel sick every day in here, but she is worth it. Have a wonderful day, sweetie." Zoe smiled as she moved back to the other side of the counter.
The ravenette watched as the young mother-to-be waddled back to work, then turned to go to a table to see Willa nose deep into her dueled copy of Twilight/Life and Death.
She bit her lip slightly as she started to walk towards the beautiful ginger, breathing slowly to calm down. It was now or never, she thought to herself while she forced a smile across her face.
"You know that you are obsessed with that book, right?" Lilia teased lightly, sitting down next to where the young woman parked at the table:
Willa looked up, seemingly so engrossed in her novel that the ravenette's sudden arrival startled her, but when she realized she was Lili, the ginger smiled as her eyes rolled amusingly.
"Lili, it was the book that sparked my love for reading, don't tease me." She made a face at her friend, earning a giggle from the other teen, but when the sound died down; Willa sensed that the younger teen was stressed about something by the way the girl kept her eyes down and away from her own, and closed the book, frowning worriedly:
"Lilia, are you ok?" She questioned, her southern accent shining through, and her frown grew as Lilia's face paled several shades as soon as the question left Willa's mouth.
The young ravenette breathed hard, pushing her lunch away before she leaned on the table. Lilia knew this was coming, but it was hard to admit her forced role in the evil queen; to think she might be about to lose everything she ever wanted. She knew, however, she had to tell the truth no matter how it will hurt to see the betrayal clear in Willa's grays.
So, once she mustered all the courage she possessed in her little body and a sigh escaped from her lips, she bravely lifted her eyes to her friend's worried ones:
"I need to tell you something, Willie, and you might hate for it. But, I don't want you to be hurt if I continue my silence." She revealed in a low, breathy tone as she hung her head down in shame. Willa c****d her head in a child-like manner, her scarlet curls falling over her shoulder, as realization dawned into her eyes. Smiling small, the ginger moved carefully closer to her, lifting the brunette's chin tenderly.
"I know, sweetie, I know." With that, Lilia's hazel eyes widen as she furiously shook her head:
"No, you don't, how could you and still be around me? I don't deserve your kindness, your friendship, knowing who I work for."
The ginger tucked her hair behind her ear, biting her lip as her eyes turned to the ugly table's marble top before sighing and looked back up into her other young woman's eyes, smiling kindly. She didn't want to worry her any more than she was at that moment as her hand rubbed soothing circles into the other young woman's shaking hands.
"We kept an eye on Calla when Adnet noticed she was quiet for weeks after we met. We eavesdropped on the rebel queen's conversation about sending you to trick me to go to her. But somehow inside, I knew that you would not do anything to put me into harm's way."
"But how? I should've just been lying to you, Willa. How can you even look at me now, knowing the truth?" Lilia whispered the question, her hair falling over her face as her head hang down in shame, not wanting to force her friend to look into her traitorous eyes. But the girl missed the almost motherly smile dancing across the ginger's face
"Because you are the sweetest little wolf. I have noticed how you're always going out of your way to help those who need a helping hand. You might've been born into the world of the rebels, but you are not one of them. You are one of us, Lili." Willa soothed tenderly, lifting her chin to make the ravenette's hazel meet hers.
Lilia's lip quavered, tears of relief fell down her cheeks, as she crashed into her older friend's warm and comforting embrace. She was so relieved to hear that she would not lose her sister that she wasn't thinking or worrying about the Rebel Queen's reaction and anger towards not only her, but her family and friends. She just so happy to have someone other than her adopted parents to lean on when troubles arise to even spare a mere thought of the nightmarish queen:
"I'm so sorry, Willa." The older teen smiled at the whisper, still stroking the ravenette's tightly twisted hair as she shook her head tenderly.
"My sweet girl, you have nothing to be sorry for. You did everything I knew you would do."
Lilia bit her lip nervously, still not sure that she was right. The brunette should have told the truth earlier, but her fear of being rejected kept her from doing the right thing as soon as she knew she couldn't go through with the evil design. But, even though she cursed her own heart for its foolishness, Lilia knew she had to put it in the past and fight like hell to make it up to her friends. And that was just the thing she planned on doing:
Soon, the rest of the group slowly showed, noticing the two hugging each other and figured that the truth had gotten too much for pretty little Lili. Adnet smiled at the scene as he moved to land a tender hand on his soul sister's small shoulder, causing her eyes to meet his, shame clearly housed in them.
The handsome young man could easily detect the warring and conflicting feelings deep inside of pretty Lilia's heart. The unanswered questions she needed to lay to bed:
Was she really evil like she was told or was she something different from her family? And he could hear the regret in her voice as she whispered the next sentence.
"I'm so sorry, Adnet. I should have said something before, but I was afraid that I would lose all of you. You mean everything to me and I couldn't lose you guys…"
A sigh ripped the blonde from that statement as he looked back at his ginger beauty, who was hugging the poor ravenette while she shook with guilty tears.
With one shake of his head, Adnet smiled softly as he knelt down to her level, nodding to Willa to hand the girl over to him, the blonde cuddled the crying girl to him before lifting her chin up gently like a brother soothing a little sister:
"You are brave to leave your kind and do the right thing, Locia. I'll admit that I got angry at you and I'm sorry that I got angry in the moment. I just was shocked and hurt, but you were just scared of Calla and what her and her followers would do to not only you, but the ones you loved." He uttered softly, tucking a stray hair behind her ear soothingly so to rid her of her worries.
The teenage girl's hazel eyes widened in shock at her friend's tender words and gentle actions. He forgave her so easily after hearing the truth about her? Why? She voiced that question to him in a quiet tone, which grained her a sweet smile.
"Oh, sweet girl, because I realized you did nothing but loved us whole-heartedly. You never wanted to be a part of this plan, did you?"
"Yes, Adnet, but I hid it from—"
"You had to, Lilia. You had to hide it, you feared what would happened if you decided to tell us and she was listening. You protected Willa the best you could by not telling us. But, you couldn't hide it, you had to tell the truth to seek forgiveness." He stated to her, c*****g his head to one side, his blonde strands falling lazily into his eyes.
"Yes." The teen whispered, unsure what to say rather than the simple 'yes'.
She was shocked that they were so kind after hearing the horrible truth, but she knew that her friends were a group of kind souls and they loved their friends, no matter what mistakes they made.
The handsome boy smiled sweetly again, holding her hand.
"Now you are free and we can protect Willa from the new kidnapper, because we know cruel Calla will never give her up. Don't worry, we will make sure you are safe as well."
Then, in relief and freedom, she laughed loudly before she jumped onto him, hugging tightly to her. She was so happy to be able to not worry about losing her friends and to be free:
"Thank you, Adnet, I needed that." She said softly, the hug tightened, the feeling of freedom rushing throughout her body. He chuckled softly.
"It's nothing, Lilia. You are family now and we love you. We will protect you." Willa cut in, smiling as her hand rubbed her friend's arm tenderly.
Lilia smiled deeply at her, thinking that she was truly a part of their family and Lilia would do anything to keep her family safe. She was not evil like her former kind was, no she was good to the bone and she was going to prove that to everyone. Lilia was no longer a mere wolf whose sole purpose was to make the Queen happy. But, now she was a human being with loving friends behind her.
Now that thoughts were slowly fading into plans for the upcoming party and how they will protect the winter princess, they talked for a few more minutes before the bell rung for the next period of the day.
The young group separated with a cheerful wave, leaving the ravenette feeling strong and brave now when for weeks she felt weak and lost. She had a true life now, after so long living in a burning hell where she was told lies about herself and beaten when she didn't follow the lies. No more, she was done with being a pawn. Lilia grinned wide as she rushed to her sword-fighting lesson, her hair falling free into the breeze:
-.-.-.-.
She screamed loudly, slamming her wine glass into the image in the mirror, staring at the shattered mirror with a scowl fit for the Devil himself as the eerily red liquid. Damn it to all!
That damned slut turned her back on her own kind and joined the fairies! The damn, whiny princess had won another round in this endless battle between them by turning one of her followers against her, but this wasn't over! Calla might have lost this round to that stupid princess, but the war is not over.
Not in the least, the older ginger thought angrily as she slammed a fist against the wall while growling deeply in her throat. She will have the southern side of the magical world, which will happen! It will be her true heir's and she will rule forever!
After a few moments of thinking of another way to get to beautiful Willa, Calla stood straight as she waved her hand across the broken glass, making the confessing scene disappeared. Calla has a new plan and this plan will surely lead her to what she desired most:
Her baby to smile at her like before the demon was born.
Calla grinned evilly before yelling for one of the strongest wolves in her army, Raven Sae.
He ran in the throne room, his body was hugged by a simple all black armor and a grim frown placed onto his full lips, a long brown braid laid over his strong shoulder. Here we go again, he mentally groaned as Raven bowed to his queen, his deep, smooth voice filled the room:
"Yes, Calla?" Raven asked his beautiful queen like a good scolder, but innerly he desired to run to find his mate.
Raven knew, however, that he had to follow orders or she would be in even more trouble. So, he bravely let the question fell from his lips.
"Is there something you would like me to do?" He asked, finally looking up at the woman.
"Yes, actually there is. I need you to go and kidnap the winter fairy princess, since your beloved mate failed at the task, so it's up to you now. When you take her, drug her and be careful with her, please?" Raven stared at his queen with confusion, a minute passed before he put his eyes back to the floor to keep the order between them together.
"Yes, sir. But my queen, you said that you wanted a woman to—"
"I know what I said, warrior. But plans changed, the wench has betrayed us in the worst way possible, so I needed someone I know I could trust. The damned young fairy needs to learn who is truly queen here and it's highly time she learned that lesson. Do what I order or your father will know you are mated to a Guardian, and you don't want that, do you? Knowing your father, it is quite a scary thought, don't you think?" The icy older fairy sneered at her warrior, harshly forcing his eyes up to meet Calla's own hate-filled green almonds as they narrowed into silts. Which earned a gulp from the young were male:
"Yes, Queen Calla, whatever you want." He told him firmly, through the burning pain of Calla's nails of claws digging into his lower cheeks. He must not show his queen any weakness if he wanted to protect his beloved from his horrifying father, Raven reminded himself:
"Good, now I want you to stay away from her until the time is right to take her, I don't need to another betrayal." Calla told the young man firmly, burying her nails into Raven's flesh harder to get the message across, earning a loud cry from the strong were wolf.
"Y-yes, your grace."
"Good, now go. A house will be ready for you tomorrow."
He nodded slowly, bowing deeply to him before running out of the room, clenching his hand into a fist. How the young male did wish he could escape his birthright and be with Lilia like they were small children. But, the threats from both the queen and his father stopped him. He had to protect her, even if that means he had to stay far away from his beloved.
Calla grinned wide as she turned to the window, the plan going through her mind, making her giddy just thinking about it….
-.-.-.-.-
They frowned deeply as they watched Calla laughed insanely, feeling their heart break into a million pieces.
The person knew the woman they loved and cared for was slowly falling deeper into the illusion of Willa being a demon trying to take the throne from the rightful ruler. But, she didn't realize what she was setting in motion, not only for herself but the ones she wanted to protect the most.
They leaned their head against the bars of their 'bedroom', letting the cold mental remind them they were still alive, and whispered the next words to deaf ears:
"You will regret this, n*. I wish you would just open your eyes before it is too late to fix the hurt you caused…"
