-.-.-.-.-p.-.-p.-.-p-.-.-p-.-.-.-.-.- Chrisom Roses A modern retelling of the French fairy tale: Beauty and the Beast by Jeanne-Marie Leprince Beaumont -.-.-.-.-p.-.-p.-.-p-.-.-p-.-.-.-.-.- -.-.-.-;- Prologue: =.-.-;-. Once upon the time in the world of toys, a young man was tested. Because of his selfish parents, he had to take on their punishment from a kind witch, for he was always the good son. The punishment was for the cruelest crime for the magical world, forcing their beloved heir to marry someone else when they knew he was already mated to someone. This was the harshest crime because the mating bond is the strongest magic known to each of magical beings; and if the mates or anyone else would try to either to fight the feelings and marry, or forces one of the mates to marry another, another; then they would go insane. Or worse, they would die of heartbreak. And even after trying to break the most important thing to him, the young prince still loved his parents. Instead of killing him, the kind witch decided to cursed him to live as a beast for his parents' past sins. He was twenty-four when the good witch decided his fate, the curse was this: The young man must live as an ugly beast until he finds a woman that would love him for the true him, not his former beauty, and until that woman comes willingly, the time in his castle will freeze, he will continue aging until the man hits the age of twenty-five. Then he will be frozen in time as well. And his servants are cursed as well, along with the castle, they are doomed to live as household items. He, the beast, only had two items to help him to tell how fast time is going by. A magic mirror to give him a look to the outside world and a beautiful red rose that would bloom until the year of 2017, giving him ninety years to find his love, for once the rose dies, the beast will too... As for the future woman who will come to live with the cursed young man, she was beautiful both on the in and outside. But, sadly, the beauty is broken from years of abuse and she will think everyone is wearing a mask, hiding their true nature from the world. With a simple request of a rose, the two souls are brought together and the story slowly turns into a love story as they spend more time together. And, as his friends watch over them, the Beast soon realized that she is more than she appears to be. And through the time together, she would be healed all the scars of her past. The beauty would learn what it is like to be loved. The most important people destroyed their hearts and made it almost impossible for them to trust. Their love and life is shattered, can something so broken be fixed? Or is it impossible? Will they keep up this wall to protect their hearts and end up ruining the chance to feel love for the first time? No, love can heal. Love can chase away the demons. Faith is not false. Not everyone wears a mask, not everyone hides a dark secret underneath a smiling face, and not everyone is evil and untrustworthy. There are people that would rather die than hurt the beauty, they would die if they betrayed her trust. But she pushes the ones who can help her away. Unwillingly or not, the beautiful soul pushes them as far away from her as possible, to protect them and to keep them safe. But little does they know; slowly life will change one day and they will meet the one person they will move on for. They will become stubborn when it comes to the other and they will not be going away, leaving them to fight their own battles on their own. They are there to stay, nothing can drive them away. Masks, secrets, and a new love will open the beautiful girl and the beast's eyes. -.-.-.-.-.-
