When Two Worlds Collide

Chapter one

The scene opens in a small apartment which has a small sitting room joined with the kitchen and a bedroom coupled with a bathroom. Inside it is a black beauty who just woke up from her sleep. She turned to her bedside table and saw that she was late for work. She hurriedly stood up, said her morning prayer and did her morning business in the bathroom. She raked through her wardrobe and found a blue top and black long slitted skirt to wear. She wore a sandal to look more professional. While she was preparing to leave her house,her phone rang. The caller was her friend from the cafe where she works.

'AFOLABI JASMINE TEMIDIRE where the f**k are you' Tina shouted. 'Good morning to you too' she answered.

'where are you?'

'I'm just leaving home. I woke up late'

'Okay just be quick. The boss is furious'

'He is always furious. I will be there'

She hung up and left after making sure that she locked up the house.

She trekked to the cafe since it was down the street. She quickly wore her apron and went ahead to get customers orders. The cafe was quite busy with customers tripping in and out to get their early morning coffee and confectionaries before leaving for their different work places.

In another area of the state, William can be seen seated on his chair behind his office desk. Ivan, his secretary entered to drop the file he had requested for. Then Audrey Parker,his girlfriend came inside alongside a panting receptionist.

'Mr Brittain I tried stopping her' the receptionist tried to explain herself. He waved his hand motioning for her to leave. Ivan left following after the receptionist. Now it remains Audrey and William in the office. Audrey is a childhood friend of William who has always being in love with him. She is also the daughter of one the first class elites in the state. William wasn't close to any female so anytime he had an event or gala to attend,he took Audrey along. The internet together with the society has always tagged them together as couples which Audrey is excited about. Although William doesn't love her. She is proud and non independent- always relying on daddy's money.

'Hey ba..' she tried to greet him.

'What are you doing here Audrey' he asked indicating a tone of frustration and anger in his voice.

'I came to visit my boyfriend in his office'

'How many times have I told you to stop addressing me as your boyfriend. You and I know that I don't love you'

'But I love you. William can't you see we will work this out. Just marry me make me your wife. You will learn to love me as time goes by' William scoffed at her ranting.

'Can you leave I want to work' he requested not wanting to argue with her anymore. She didn't want to leave but she knew if she did not William can stop communicating with her for few days which she doesn't like. She quickly pecked him on the cheek while showing a little bit of her chest to arouse his interest in her. She left walking to the door while swaying her hips.

After she left, William took a tissue paper from his desk to wipe the area where she pecked. He worked till evening and letf after all his workers had left. He decided not to go home because he knew he would meet Audrey. He drove around without a destination in mind. Then he came across a cafe at the junction. He got down to get some snacks before heading back home.

The bell at the door jingled when he opened the door. He sat at a corner waiting for someone to come over to take his order. A caramel skin toned girl came to his side.

'Welcome sir,what will you like to have' she said with a voice he wished to hear again. He was mesmerized by her beauty and voice that he almost lost control of himself. She waited for him to respond but he wasn't coming forth.

'Sirrr' She said trying to gain his attention.

'Sorry I will like to take one cup of vanilla flavored latte and two slices of sandwiches' he replied

'Okay sir, I will be right back' she said and left to get his order.

His order was brought to him by the same girl,he quickly looked at the tag placed in her chest and saw that her name was Afolabi Jasmine. He made a mental note to get her information and know everything about her.

'Enjoy sir' she said and left to take care of other things.

After he was done eating and paying,he left with the idea of going there every time to 'eat'. Jasmine quickly cleaned up the cafe and left for her apartment.
