Chapter 21 Alexander

After Alexis little show I had to get the hell up outta there. She’s been testing and teasing me all day. And after that little “show” she did, I was damn near ready to have s*x her in the changing room. She was the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever seen. She looked amazing, sexy, confident, hell just over all breath taking. I walked up to the cashier dropping three hundred dollars on the counter, “she’ll take it all.” I blurt out before I leave out the store. She comes out soon after with two cashiers helping her with her bags. Rafe and George go to her and take the bags. We stopped at a couple more stores getting her jewelry, make up and her personal monthly items. We load everything into the SUV and we all pile in before Rafe speeds off.We make it home in no time. Hell the way Rafe drives you can make it anywhere in a blink of an eye. But that’s why I hired him, his driving skill and he’s tech savvy with electronics. I look over to Alexis seeing that she’s fallen asleep during the drive. She looks so peaceful I really don’t want to wake her, but I have too. Because if I carry her like I want to she’d say I’d broken a rule. I caress her chin with my thumb,

I take a deep breath as I glance down at her lips. I bet they are just as soft as they look. Letting her face go I grab her shoulder and gently shake her. She moans as she begins to wake up. She looks at me through her eye lashes. I jerk my head to the side, she looks past me and sees were back home. I unhook my seat belt and get out. Going around to her side I open the door for her. I don’t hold my hand out this time, so she gets out on her own and we make our way to the house. Once inside Alexis heads upstairs to our room I’m guessing. I call Rafe over and whisper a message to him to past alone to her. ‘Ms. Roberts!” He calls out, causing her to stop and turn around. “Boss wants you to know dinner will be ready in and hour and Claire will be there to help put your things away.” “Thanks and it’s just Alexis or Lexi.” She corrects him before climbing the stairs out of sight.

I turn to Rafe again, “first thing in the morning I need you to go buy her a new phone. The latest iPhone is fine, program it to where she can only call me, Gio and Jake. She doesn’t need to be calling anyone else. Have it to me first thing in the morning. I want to give it to her before I leave for work.” “I’m on it Boss.” He states and leaves. I walk to my office, unlocking it and going in. I sit behind my desk and check my emails about the grad opening. I’m really excited about this hotel. This is my first hotel in Los Angeles that I am building from the ground up. I have hotels and restaurants all across the world. New York, Chicago, Houston, Paris, Italy and London just to name a few. And now LA. Just as I am finishing up my brothers come storming in. “Fratello.” (Brother) Giovanni shouts while coming in. Jacob right behind him shaking his head.”Boss.” They both take a seat. “Fratelli. (Brothers)” I say back. “Now how is it that Jake and I get stuck with making sure your father in law is straight with his new nanny, then we have to check on the club all the while you're out on shopping sprees? Seems pretty unfair if you ask me.” Jake laughs “don’t mind him Alex, he’s just mad because a certain piccola ragazza wasn’t at the club tonight.” Gio shoots Jake a stare and I chuckle. “I am not, I wasn’t even looking for her.” Gio says defending his self. “So you didn’t see her?” I verify. He slumps into his chair “no. She hasn’t been back to the club since Lexi left. And that Benjamin guy doesn’t know where she lives. Like seriously what kind of boss doesn’t know where his employees live.” Gio yell causing me and Jake to look at each other.

I look back at him, he’s got it bad for this girl. “Have you asked Rafe for help, you know he can find anyone.?” “Yeah no luck there either, it’s like she doesn’t exist.” He says sound more defeated. “What if you ask Lexi, they work together may she would know where the girl lives.” Jake says and Gio hops up out of his seat. “Jake you are a genius. Lexi might know where she’s stays, I can just ask her.” As he rushes out the door to Alexis I yell. “No!” Gio stops in his tracks, and Jake looks at me with a confused look. “You’re not asking her anything about her friends or anyone who works at the club. I just got her to agree to stay here willingly. Asking her about her friends will only set her off and make her want to leave. I’m sorry Giovanni, but no. We’ll figure out another way to find her.” I tell him. I feel bad I really do but I can’t risk losing her, I just can’t. Not even for Giovanni’s happiness. They both look at me with disappointment in their eyes. But no one says anything, but what can they say? My word is law. Gio gives me one last look before storming out. Jake walks over to me and pats my shoulder, “ I hope you know what you are doing, you may have just lost your best friend over a girl you don’t even know. And if you aren’t careful brother you will lose them both.” He says letting my shoulder go. “We’ll find her Jake.” I tell him. He doesn’t say anything he just walks out. I sigh and run my hand through my hair.

“Mr. Parker dinner is ready.” Claire says thru the intercom. I don’t say anything back, I just walk out my office locking the door behind me. I wasn’t in the mood to eat anymore, but I wanted to see Alexis so I made my way to the dining room. Everyone was already seated, well almost everyone. The seat to my left was empty, I take my seat. I lean over to Jacob, but before I can even ask he just shrugs his shoulders. f**k! I say to my self while sitting back in my chair. I really do gotta get a handle on this, before I lose my best friend. Giovanni has never missed a meal. I look over at Alexis who’s just sitting awkwardly. The maids come in with plates of food for everyone. Alexis and I get our food first, then Jake then Rafe and the guards last. Claire looks at Giovanni’s chair and then to me. “Where’s Mr. Santos?” She asks me causing everyone to look at me for an answer. Everyone knows Gio loves to eat and would never miss a meal. The boy loves food too much. He eats so much the maids bring him two plates instead of one. Before I can even think of a response Jake answers for me. “Giovanni isn’t feeling too good, so he’ll eat later.” Buying his story Claire takes both his plate and place the food in tupper-ware containers. And place the food in the refrigerator.

The guilt comes back to the forefront of my mind. I gotta find this girl and fast. I start eating realizing how hungry I actually am. I only ate twice today. “So Lexi tell me about yourself.” Jake sparks a conversation out of no where. She looks at him with a sad look. “Uhm there’s really not much to tell. I was born in Hawaii, but my father and I moved to California after my mother left us.” My heart breaks a little while I listen and my guilt just keeps piling on. “How old were you when she left?” Jake continues and I continue to listen. “A little over a year old.” She replies softly. “So no other siblings then?” “No just me and my dad.” “And No boyfriend?” He asked and I begin to choke on my food. They both look at me. “You good Boss?” He ask, I just shake my head. He turns back to Alexis waiting for her answer. “N-No, not anymore.” She doesn’t look sad when she says this. “Why not, what happened?” Jake continues his interrogation. “I don’t wanna talk about it.” She says playing with her food with the fork. I find myself listening a little too hard. But I was curious, I needed to know. Was it because of me? Or was he an asshole who didn’t deserve her? I hope that’s the reason and not because she’s forced to stay here with me. I don’t need her hating me more than she already does. “Fair enough, so what do you like to do for fun?” He changes the subject. She finishes the food before answering. “Working at the club was cool, I had my best friends with me and the drinks was free. Spending time with my dad. And I-I like to read.”

They continue to talk throughout the whole dinner. She even started talking to Rafe and some of the other guards. I felt so left out, she was actually laughing and talking to everyone but me. Everyone was having a good time and for the first time the conversation was something other than mafia business. It feels good to see her relaxed and laughing. Jacob could do that though, he’s an easy person to talk too. He makes people want to have a conversation with him. After dinner Claire bought plate of red velvet cake, and it was delicious. Claire knows she can cook, but it’s her baking skills that are over the top. Some time passes and out the blue the door bell rings. Jake looks at me, I look around the table at my men. I pull my g*n out from under my chair, and everyone falls suit. Rafe turns his body so he’s blocking Alexis. Alexis looks at me confused and scared, but I give her a reassuring look. I won’t let anything happen to her. Tracey comes walking in with Emily and her two minions causing everyone to relax and put their safeties back on.

Emily comes in screaming “Alex, baby I’ve missed you.” She grabs my face and kisses me on the lips, I don’t reciprocate. Her perfume hits me hard, it’s not a pleasant smell. Emily just wears too much. I look over at Jacob who’s shaking his head and rolling his eyes at me. Emily lets me go and stand up straight fixing her too small, too tight dress. She looks down at Alexis, “who is this and why is it in my seat?” She questions. “Emily what are you doing here?” I ask trying to avoid what’s about to happen. “ I came to see you baby, didn’t you get my message? And again why is this thing in my seat?” She ask again putting her hands on her hips. “Who the f**k are you calling a thing? Because the only thing in here is you. You plastic Malibu barbie.” Alexis finally says turning too Emily. “Oh so it does speak, so I’m guessing you’re the new help or something? Wait let me guess you’re the house slut.” Emily says causing her friends to laugh.

“Emily that is enough.” I intervene before this gets out of hand. She looks at me “baby you are so right, plus I have better things to do then sit here and entertain the house dog.” She pats Alexis head causing Alexis to stand up from her seat grabbing Emily’s arm twisting it. “Touch me again b***h and I will break your hand.” I stand up from my seat and shout “THAT’S ENOUGH!.” Everyone goes quiet, I’ll deal with Emily later, I can’t do it now especially not in front of everyone. But I can’t let Alexis talk her like that either. Emily smiles “You see house s**t, my Alex always defends and protect me. Even if it is from stray dogs like you, now go run along and clean something.” She says and I slap my hand to my face and rub my hand through my hair. Alexis looks at me waiting for me to say something but I don’t. She rolls her eyes at me and moves from the table and leaves the dining room. And once again there’s that guilt front and center.
