Chapter 6 Alexis

It’s three thirty in the morning and my shift is finally over. I was in the middle of counting the tips I made tonight when Dori comes over to me. “OMG! I forgot to tell you, there was these three guys in my section tonight. And they were hot, like really hot. One of them was staring at me, and Lexi he had the most cutest smile I’ve ever seen. I mean EVER, pretty white teeth and everything. Then he came up to me and gave me a hundred dollar bill, winked at me then left.” She informs me all in one breathe. “Well did you get his number Dor.” I ask hoping she would have said yes. “WHAT! No of course I didn’t, are you crazy.” She walks up closer to me and looks me in the eyes. I know she has her terrible past, but now I think its time she gets back out there and try dating again. “Why not, if you think he’s hot why not go for it. I haven’t seen you this hyped of a guying in forever. And Dori that’s saying something.” I walk over to her and close the gab between putting my hands on her shoulder. “I’m not that confident, I’m not like you Lexi. I can’t just walk up to someone and be like hey I think you’re cute, can I have your number.” She tells me and she shies away from me causing my hands to fall off her shoulders.

“Yes you can and you are confident Dorian. And you are sexy as hell so if you like someone then go for it. Dorian you just have to believe in yourself, just as much as we do.” I tell her meaning every word that coming out of my mouth. “I'm not ready for that right now Lexi, but thanks for the confidence.” I don’t say anything back, I just look at her not sure what to say next. I give her a weak sweat smile. “You almost ready to go?” She changes the subject and her happiness is back. “Yeah just let me split the tips with the bar and we can go.” I answer walking towards the bar and I hand the bartender thirty dollars. I walk back over to Dori grabbing my purse from under the counter.

“Ready?”

“Ready.”

The car right to Dor’s house was quick, since there’s no traffic this time of morning. We make small talk some more through the car ride, while listening to music. Arriving to her apartment I park infant of the building.

“Thanks for the rides today Lexi, I really appreciate it.” She says as she collects her things and gets out.

“Oh hush! Don’t ever thank me I’m always happy to give you a ride girl.”

“I love you.” She tells me kissing my cheek as she always does

“I love you too, I’ll call you in the mor- afternoon when I wake up.” I tell her.

“Okay.” She yells as she opens the gate to the apartment going up the stairs.

I sit there watching her make her way to her apartment. I don’t drive off yet as I’m waiting to make sure she’s in her apartment. She lives alone and in a not so great neighborhood. Ashtyn and I offered her to come live with us, hell we begged her too. She could take my room and I move in Ash’s room. But she said no that she would be fine, that she’s okay with living alone. Which I forcibly understood. So the only thing that we can do is our best to look out for her and be there when she needs us. Once she’s signals she’s inside by turning her light on and off twice, I pull off and make my way home. I park in my assigned stall and head for the stairs. Reaching my apartment I pull out my key and open the door locking it behind me. I go straight to my room knowing Ash is already sleep. I drop my things off on the dresser and strip n***d and head straight to the shower. Once I’m clean I get out and go brush my teeth. Walking over to my dresser and pull out a pair of panties and a t-shirt not bothering with a b*a. I climb into bed thanking God I have the next two days off.
