My heart beat accelerated at Mum's words. Why was she asking me this question? Different thoughts and assumptions raced through my mind that instant. Did she find out about me and Maguire? Did I give something off? I made sure I checked the mirror before coming to meet her. I made sure everything was perfect, from my dressing to how I looked. What could have made her think I have a boyfriend?
