I stood by the window, watching as Natalie conversed with Mother over the phone. Every so often, she would glance in my direction and give me a small smile before looking away.
My phone buzzed in my pocket, and I pulled it out. It was a message from Lilith.
"Don't I deserve an apology for the way you treated me yesterday?" the message read.
