Him & I

Chapter Four:

I was watching where I was going as I walked down the hall. It was now Friday and I couldn't wait for the last bell to ring not only because I would be away from Gabe and his murderous glares. My brother is coming home tomorrow and I miss him. I haven't seen him in almost a month because he was to busy at college to come home. I looked both ways before crossing into another hallway. I didn't want to cause un necessary attention for myself.

"Hope!" Someone screamed from behind me. My eyes widen hoping it wasn't someone who didn't like me. But from the sound of the voice and the over excitement in the voice I'm pretty sure it's Eliza. I turn and wait for my friend who was walking at a fast pace to catch up with me. I laughed when she was in front of me and looked like she was about to pass out.

"Hello, Eliza!" I said with a small chuckle.

"Hey, Hope! How are you today?" She said with a big smile on her face.

"I'm good Eliza thank you. How are you and Elizabeth doing?" I asked worried about Elizabeth.

"She's doing a lot better. I think it's because she's on a mission. Ever since you came over the other day she's been more than eager to get better. But I'm fine thank you" She said with a small chuckle. Oh, Elizabeth! She must be mad at Gabe. The other day I went over Eliza's after school because I didn't want to be alone and I was still kind of upset about Gabe. When I was sitting on Elizabeth's bed and she noticed my mood and wouldn't stop bothering me to tell her what was wrong. So I did and she went ballistic, she didn't care that she was still sick or recovering from a sickness she got out of bed and started curse words I do not wish to repeat and she started saying that she was going to hurt Gabe in only ways she could. That was until Eliza came back into the room and made Elizabeth get back in bed and rest. The rest of the night we watch movies but Elizabeth kept on mummering things she was going to do to Gabe when she saw him. I was scared from him.

The bell rang and I said goodbye too Eliza since she had to go to class. I had a free period so I was going to the library and get caught up on the book I was reading. It's called The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. The book is a bout a girl named Cassie who has the ability to read people and know what they are about to do. She get contacted by the FBI to join and help figure out some cases and what happened to her mother. it's really interesting and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

"Nerd!" Someone called from behind me. But it didn't take took long to figure out who was because no one calls me nerd other then Gabe and their no one around to save me. I'm going to have to save myself. I didn't want to turn around but I did.

"Gabe! How are you?" I asked not really caring. " Well, that's great I got to go." I said again and walked towards the library. But I didn't get to far because I was pushed against the lockers.

"Not so fast nerd." He growled.

Is it me or does this kid growl a lot?

"What do you want Gabe?" I questioned.

"Well, you nerd this hallway is empty and their just so happens to be a bathroom right there. So do you know what I want." He said creepily. I tried to get out his grasp but he was too strong. I didn't like this feeling of feeling week but for some reason every time he was around their was that feeling again. I pushed him off of me and ran down the hall but luck is never on my side because I didn't get very far before he caught up to me. I groaned.

"Are you feeling sentimental today and let me go?" I said feeling a little hopeful.

"Let me think about that for a second.... No." He growled before pushing me down the hall before getting stopped by....King?

"Gabe.. Do you not remember what he discussed." King growled at Gabe not even sparring me a look.

What is these men and growling.

"Oh, I do. I just decided to ignore you and tell you to shove your threats up your ass" He growled back.

"So, why don't you go and do exactly that." King said smirking. Gabe let me go and walked towards King. Slowly. Gabe was going to say something but King didn't let him speak because he punched him in the face. I was shocked, I didn't see that happening. What surprised me further was the fact that Gabe didn't hit him back he just walked away.

"Thank you." I said looking into his hazel eyes.

"That's twice in two days that I had to save you. Lets not let it happen again." He said with no emotion on his face and walked away. I sighed when the bell rang.

"It looks like I'm not going to the library" I whispered to myself and headed to the cafeteria.

When I walked into the cafeteria and was about to head to our table when I heard my name. I looked around the cafeteria and saw it was Eliza calling me from Nik's and his friends table. I mentally groaned not really wanting to sit over there because the only seat left was next to king, who somehow got here before I did. But none the less I walked over to the table and said hi to everyone.

I was going to walk away and head to the library because I kind of felt out of place here. But as I was walking away I heard my name being called again. I groaned again as I turned around.

"What?" I asked.

Can't a girl just go read a book in peace?

"Where are you going?" Eliza asked

"Library. I already ate earlier." I said lying about the fact that I ate. I just wanted to leave and I knew if she I didn't eat she wouldn't let me go.

"Liar." I heard someone mummer. I looked up and saw that King was smirking at me. "You were with me earlier remember love."

Love? I blushed when he said this and looked away from him. I looked at Eliza and saw she was glaring at me but was raising her eyebrow in question. I question her mood sometimes. But as I was looking at her I saw Luca had his hand over her shoulder. So, I raised an eyebrow at her wondering when this happened. She just blushed and looked away.

Ohh we are defiantly talking about this later. I looked at King again to see he was already looking at and nodded his head for me to follow him.

"Looks like someone's crushing on the badboy!" Jasmine said speaking up for the first time since I got here.

"No! I hardly know him." I said as I watched him leave the cafeteria through the back door.

"Then get to know him. He's not what people think he is." Jasmine said getting up and throwing her trash out.

"Yeah and I'd totally ship it even if your mine. Oh, I call dibs on making the ship name!" Nik said making me blush blood red.

"Shut up Nik we all know your gay, stop making the girl blush and what do you know about ship names. Eliza and I will handle the ship name." Jasmine said sitting down in her seat. I looked at the door longingly. He groaned but then smiled seconds later. I don't know why, but it was weird.

"Fine! Then I call dibs on making Eliza and Luca's ship name." He said triumphantly.

Ok, now I know why he did that. I saw Eliza glaring at Nik, Luca looked like he didn't have a care in the world and Jasmine was laughing. I took this time to leave the cafeteria the same way King did. When I walked out the door he was leaning against the wall smoking a cigarette.

"You know those are bad for you?" I said making my presence known.

"Life is bad for me but I'm still living it." He said taking another puff of his cigarette.

He did have a point.

"Come here at five o'clock Friday night and don't be late. I hate tardy people." He said handing me a piece of paper with what look like an address on it. And without giving me a chance to ask questions he walked away throwing his cancer giving stick on the floor leaving me to question my life choices.
