Chapter 15 “I guess you’re still packing.” Tabby’s voice startles me. I snap upright, half expecting to see the Butcher or Baza behind her. But she is alone. Now she is rocking black chinos with millions of pockets, military-green Martens and an outdoorsy jacket. A backpack is strapped to her back. I don’t know how far we will need to walk, but judging by her get-up, we’ll be trekking through the wilderness for a while. “Yeah, wasn’t sure what to pack”, I mumble. “I got everything we need”, she declares. “You need to pack a change of clothes and a toothbrush”. She is in charge and she loves it.
