Her hair was long, dark and thick. Her dark brown eyes stared at me blankly. “Can I help you” I ask cautiously. I’ve always been told to never talk to strangers when you’re in dangerous situations, or when out of the ordinary people start doing something but something called me towards her. It was 12am. I’ve been working the late shift at the convenience store for the past six weeks. “Um yes. Just these two thanks.” Her voice raspy and low, it almost sounded like she had been coughing. She hands me a chocolate bar and a cold donut. “Would you like me to he—“ “no.” I didn’t even get to finish my sentence before she cut me off. It’s like she knew what I was going to say. She walked towards the automatic doors. She turns to me as they open infront of her. “I’ll see you another time?” Se says almost questionably as she steps foot outside the store. A cold breeze follows in through the door just as they shut after her. It seems like an odd and it gave me goosebumps but I decided to brush it off as if it were nothing. My mistake.
