Tuesday morning
Two days, several soft meals and forty agonizing hours later, and this superhero is ready to fly the coop.
Being held hostage for the second day at Cedar Sinai hospital has me feeling more like a villain than a savior, and I pace the hall outside of my hospital room in a white and blue gown that I’m seconds from tearing off.
I hear a set of heavy footfalls round the corner and just as a curse finds the edge of my lips, my makeshift nurse comes into sight, a smile fanning across his handsome face.
I frown back as he hands me a red bag of chips, towering over me in a simple t-shirt and jeans before taking my hand in his. He pulls me close.
