Well that was eventful, wasn’t it? After this, the story picks up a bit more but I just wanted to introduce some people first. Anyway just give me some time to catch you up cause you’re still 4 months behind me. I don’t want you to not know the details though right? Anyhow as you can see I’m starting to hate the whole ‘half zombie’ thing. It gets worse as I stay there more. Life changes for me even more after this day. Is it bad or is it good you’ll never know. Nah I’m just kidding you’ll see for yourself after this.

I realize that I might seem dramatic but you’ll see that’s all I got to say.

*STILL FOUR MONTHS*

“ Mr.Thorne, may I come in ?”, he says.

“Yes,” I say, reluctantly.

*Ace opens the door*

“ So you like eavesdropping huh? ”, he said while smirking.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” I say.

“ Phoenix I know you were listening,” he says.

I shook my head and he closed the door behind him.

“ So we’re going to lie?”, he says as he gets closer to me.

“ You should get back, you know? I could infect you or whatever,” I say as I back up on my bed (maybe I was blushing you don’t know).

He laughed, “ The test results came back, you can’t infect anyone,” he said.

Damn, I don’t have anything to say. Welp time for my trap card.

“ Well, what if I was eavesdropping? What difference does that make Dr. Snow?,” I say, raising my eyebrow.

“ We’re not around people Phoenix you can call me Ace, But anyways I like you so?”

“ So? It’s not like I like you” I said, holding back my smile.

“ Really so you kiss people you don’t like? ”, he says with a smile.

Now did I get up and kiss him again after that? I wanted to but it got interrupted by a knock on the door.

It was Olivia and he opened the door.

“We need the both of you asap, You know how to fight right Mr.Thorne?,” She says.

I nod and am a little disappointed. We walk to the place she’s talking about. She asks if we can handle it and we both nodded. It’s f*****g terrible. Zombies attacking each other and not even for food. Then a doctor was in the mix.

“ Well well if it isn’t the damn half-zombie you think you’re better than us? ”, someone says.

“ Definitely no better than any of you. We’re all stuck here and feel like we’re f*****g monsters. Singling me out doesn’t do anything for you as it does for me. Attacking a doctor that’s left home and stays here day in and out isn’t gonna heal you,” I say.

“ They don’t care about us and you’re just their guinea pig to them,” he says angrily.

“ If I have to be a guinea pig for all of us to be healed then so be it, they can stick every needle they can-” I try to say before one of the security officials hits me.

I defend myself and some doctors look at me like I'm a monster. But he didn't. He tried to call them off and when they didn’t he intervened.

“ When I tell you to stop, you stop or you’re gonna lose your job, Do you understand? ,” Ace says

“ Fire me? Please the fact that you’re defending one of “them” is disgusting," the security guard says.

“ Take him out of my site and process him,” Ace says.

“ Yes sir,” some familiar faces say in unison.

All the zombies were surprised.

“ If they ever try to hit any of you they’ll end up like him. I care about all of you” he said while helping me up.

He talked to everyone, got them bandaged, and then he went to talk with the doctors. Everyone looked at me kind of weirdly as I got my food and sat down where I saw Jade.

“ So I heard they’re putting a team together to investigate the places where it all started, You thinking of going? ”, she says looking at me.

“ I haven’t heard about it but if it’s possible I’ll go, Anything to find a cure and finish this and come back to some type of normal,” I say.

“ Me too,” most of the table said.

“ If you guys want to do that go ahead, just because that one doc is on our side doesn’t mean anything,” someone said down the table.

“ You know he’s the head doctor right? ”, I said and everyone was super surprised.

“ Really???,” Jade says.

After I nod everyone asks me questions about him and the other staff. I just tell them what I’ve heard or observed. After that, they introduced themselves..

“ Thanks for the info, I'm Violet, beside me are Nora and Ben, and the girl in the back is Cora,” They all waved in unison.

“ No problem, I'm Phoenix, this is Jade beside me and Theodore beside her,” they also wave.

It was nice to not feel so alone in this place. I thought everyone would look at me weird for the whole ‘Half-Zombie’ thing. Sadly my lunch was short-lived when Ace called me. I said bye to everyone and headed out.

“ So, what am I needed for? ” I said, while we were walking.

“ We’re setting up a team to investigate and I wanted to ask you to join it ?”, Ace said.

“ I was just talking about doing it so sure,” I said.

He nods and opens the door to this unfamiliar room.

“ Before you go out though you’re going to train because we don’t know who’s going to stop us from getting the info, ” Dr.Snow says as he nods at some people.

“ We’re ready for him Sir,” Ms. Fin says.

He nods “ Ok I’ll leave you with them for now Mr.Thorne, After you’re finished please come to my office,” Dr.Snow.

Nodded towards Dr. Snow as he left. Ms.Fin then took my height, weight, etc....Then she had me put this thing on my head ( it looked like a VR Headset) and a fake weapon so it could calibrate to me. I tested it, and saw everything was good to go, and after she told me my training date and times. As I left I saw Nora, Violet, and Ben ask about their times. I waved and headed to Dr.Snow’s office.

I lightly knock on his office door, “ Come in Mr.Thorne, and close the door behind you,” Dr.Snow said.

“ Something was needed ?”, I say.

He sighed, “ Yes, I’m sorry just been swamped, I’m going to be the leader of the investigation group and we need to go to the gun range as a group because you guys are going to need guns,”

“ When?,” I said.

“ Tomorrow so make sure you’re up bright and early I told the others, also you’re going to need to take a shot to defy the hunger for a bit, you’ll only need one for obvious reasons,” he said.

I asked more about the training, got more info about the shot, and went to my room. I feel like this might be amazing or a trainwreck no in between..
