I didn’t sleep. At 3am, Malik’s office light was still on. At 6am, two lawyers arrived. At 8am, I got a text from an unknown number: `We know about Leo.` My blood turned to ice. I called the nanny. "Pack Leo’s things. Now." "Ma’am?" "Just do it." When I got to the penthouse, Malik was waiting. No suit. No smile. Just rage. "Sit down," he said. I sat. "You lied to me," he said. "You signed a contract. You married me. And you hid my son from me for 18 months." I said nothing. "Say something." "What do you want me to say, Malik? That I was scared? That your family would take him from me? That you would?" He slammed his hand on the table. "I’m his FATHER!" "And I’m his MOTHER!" I shouted back. "I carried him. I raised him. I kept him alive when you were busy being a billionaire!" Silence. Then Malik did something I didn’t expect. He laughed. Bitter. "You’re just like me, aren’t you?" "What?" "Stubborn. Ruthless. Protective." He walked to the window. "I don’t want to fight you, Siddiqa." "Then what do you want?" "I want to meet my son." My heart broke. "Tomorrow," I whispered. "But if you hurt him—" "I won’t." He turned around. "I’m not my father." For the first time since this started, I believed him.
