“How is it that you two can work together and still be at each other’s throats?” Svetlana asked from the sidelines, her voice tinged with dry amusement.
“Unfortunately, that’s just the nature of family members who both happen to be Alphas,” Brandon responded. Leah immediately elbowed him in the ribs. “What?” he hissed, but Leah only rolled her eyes and shook her head.
“Regardless of the bickering, the facts haven't changed,” Olivia said, her voice a calming balm in the crowded office. “They’re found, they’re safe, and they’ll be back within a few hours. William mentioned they found something that could help.”
“But what did they find?” Rylee cut in, her patience snapping. She rubbed her chest, her expression tightening in pain. “Aurora is crying again. I can feel it.”
