Miracle
I stood outside the prison cell, my feet rooted to the ground, listening to my parents' conversation. I had never seen her this vulnerable. She was always furious, fierce, yelling. But today, she looked different—weak and somehow helpless.
"I told you this wasn't what I wanted! I was forced into this because you failed me, Mago. You left. What did you expect? Wait for you? The man who left me without a word?" she cried out, her voice breaking as she knelt.
"That's not the issue, Amy. My concern here is you, hurting our daughter! Why do you have to do that? If you hate me, hate me alone, not our daughter!"
"You can't put the blame on me, alright? Miracle reminds me of everything about you—your face, your broken promises, you leaving me alone with a daughter..." My mother shook
