I never anticipated things would spiral into this situation. Hope had merely attempted to reason, which led to her raising her voice. I stood up for my mate when Hakusho turned violent. It might have seemed disrespectful, but it wasn't intentional. Hakusho initiated the conflict. But why did my father have to be punished as well?
"Why aren't you fighting back, father?" I asked when Hakusho gave me a moment to face my father. He appeared unharmed, except for the silver chain around his wrist.
"Let the Elders do what they deem right, Theron. Hope disrespected them. It's not acceptable," my father replied.
I shook my head. "She's simply defending herself against Hakusho's false accusations."
It's frustrating how resolute my father remains in his stance, as if he's become a puppet,
