CHAPTER 007 Jonas’s POV A firestorm of anger builds up inside my body. Elias Mikkelsen thinks he’s untouchable. He believes he can seize my things while pretending to rule the entire world through his game. But he’s wrong. I will demonstrate to him exactly what he should understand. I desired Sofie to become a destroyed and shattered version of her former self who would remain only as a broken shadow. That was the plan. But Elias? Elias Mikkelsen represents a unique type of challenge. He doesn’t just ruin people. He takes them. He turns them into his personal property through some sort of ownership ritual. And I won’t stand for it. My biggest mistake was not understanding his true strength. I believed he would be simple to handle. I believed I could operate the game system by pressing buttons to regain control of Sofie. Elias Mikkelsen operates under his own set of rules and possesses his own distinct power. Sofie is now in his possession which I cannot accept. I have someone who can assist me with this situation. Elias has no one who understands him better than this person. His younger brother, Henrik. I find Henrik in the shadowy back area of a bar. The barroom air carries a mix of old beer and cigarette smoke yet I remain indifferent. I need information. Henrik stands as the person who will provide me with the information I need. Henrik occupies the corner table while his eyes move across the room as if he waits for someone to arrive. His face remains expressionless when he spots me. He doesn’t even nod. He gives me a single raised eyebrow before indicating the empty chair in front of him. He speaks in a quiet tone as he says "I thought you would show up." I skip formalities when I need information. “I need your help, Henrik.” He maintains his silence before speaking. He drinks his glass at a leisurely pace while maintaining eye contact with me. He’s testing me. Seeing if I’m serious. Henrik finally speaks up by setting his glass down gently while saying "I know what you want." You won't get my services without payment Jonas. I move closer to the table while keeping my eyes on his as I speak. I will not require your professional services but I need your help against Elias. All you need to do is assist me in my mission against Elias. Henrik smirks. You display strong courage which I acknowledge. Do you believe Elias is a pushover in your efforts to defeat him? The guy’s untouchable. He’s built an empire.” I don’t flinch. “He made a mistake. He took what’s mine. He's going to suffer because of his actions. Henrik sits back in his chair as he thinks about my statement. His mind is actively processing information. Elias has the closest relationship with him than anyone else. He possesses the knowledge to assist me because he knows Elias better than anyone else. Henrik gets up from his seat to retrieve a manila envelope from the shelf before bringing it to the table. He pushes the envelope toward me across the tabletop. “This is what you need.” I remove the envelope from my hands while my fingers shake slightly before I extract the paper inside. It’s simple—a set of coordinates. A location. I don’t need to ask. I already know what this is. According to Henrik the coordinates represent the secret Elias always wanted to keep hidden from others. The location you need to strike him lies in this envelope. The coordinates in front of me trigger a strategic plan to form in my thoughts. Throughout his life Elias maintained a cautious approach while staying ahead of everyone else. I finally possess the advantage over Elias for the very first time. I know his weakness. I will exploit this information to gain an advantage. Henrik observes me intently because he anticipates my upcoming action. A dense tension fills the space as if it were condensing from the weight of all the anxiety present. The situation demands intense focus because Elias will resist with everything he has. But I’m ready for it. I raise my eyes from the paper to find Henrik staring at me. “This is the key, isn’t it?” Henrik doesn’t answer right away. He responds with a brief nod that shows his contentment. He delivers his statement with a final tone that is both cold and decisive. I smile. It’s a cold, calculating smile. This moment has been my long-awaited opportunity. I have been patiently waiting for the opportunity to reverse the situation with Elias. I possess all the tools I require at this moment. I tell him with determination in my voice that this information gives me the power I need. Henrik lifts his eyebrow in a way that shows his amusement. Jonas you must not fail in this task. Elias doesn’t take betrayal lightly.” I rise to my feet while placing the coordinates inside my jacket pocket. “I know what I’m doing.” Henrik halts my departure with his final statement. “Be careful. Elias will stop at nothing to defend his possessions. Don’t underestimate him.” I don’t answer. I don’t need to. I have complete knowledge of Elias's capabilities. I am about to show Elias Mikkelsen why he should have never crossed me. The burden of my plan becomes heavier as I exit the bar. Elias remains completely unaware of the impending danger that approaches him. I have him trapped right now with no escape route available. A smirk appears on my face when I reach for my phone. Time to make a call. A quiet whisper escapes my lips as I tell him "You'll live to regret this Elias." Your life would have been better if you had never interfered with me. But it’s too late now. Jonas Fischer will show Elias Mikkelsen the consequences of stealing from him. Does he understand what will happen to him? The question remains whether he will discover that people without protection can still experience downfall.
