It’s been a week since my sunshine told me she can’t see. Iv been helping her with her homework and we even made a cheat cheat for when we take tests. I know it sounds bad but I hate seeing her struggle especially when she’s super smart. Don’t get me wrong, my sunshine gave me hell for even bring it up at first but she finally gave in. Her grades have gone up a little in the classes we have together and she’s starting to feel a little more comfortable with me around her again.

****Knock Knock*****

“Come in”

“Oh hey sunshine you ok.”

“Yea I’m just bored in my room.”

“Well it’s a nice night outside let go for a swim.”

“Okay. I’ll go get my stuff.”

Well that didn’t take long. I see my little ray of sunshine running out my door to get her bathing suit and towel.

“Hey man what’s up?”

“Hey Lu. Nothing man just getting ready for a swim. Why what’s up?”

“I wanna talk to you about Crystal.”

“What about her?”

“What’s going on with her AJ? She’s not her self and she hasn’t been her usual spunky self in weeks. I mean don’t get me wrong this week she is a little better but she’s different.”

“I get what you mean. Iv noticed it too. I don’t know what’s going on but I don’t want to push her in telling me. She’s been distant with all of us and I’m taking what I can get from her at this point.”

“AJ your the only one she’s letting in right now. If you know something we all need to know as well. We can’t protect her if we don’t know what’s going on.”

“Look Lu I don’t know what’s going. She won’t tell me anything. All I know is that she’s been crying a lot more than usual. I saw her last week walking out of your fathers office crying.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Yea man. Don’t act like you don’t see the difference in the way your dad and Mikey’s dad go at it now when she’s the topic of conversation.”

“I do see it which is why I’m telling you to tell me what you know. I know you know what’s going on with her AJ, I’m not stupid.”

“I said I don’t know so drop it. If she won’t let you in then there’s nothing I can do. I’m not forcing her to do anything she doesn’t want too.”

*****knock knock******

“Hey sunshine you ready?”

“Yea but I changed my mind I don’t want to go anymore. I’ll just see you tomorrow.”

“Hey princess you ok what’s wrong.”

“Nothing I’m fine Lu.”

“Princess please tell me what’s wrong.”

“I said I’m fine Lu.”

“I’m going to bed I’m see you guys tomorrow.”

With that’s she walks out the door. I’m beyond pissed. She was finally starting to feel semi comfortable with me around and Lu had to start questioning and trying to force himself in.

“You see what you did.”

“Don’t you dare yell at me. I didn’t do anything AJ”

“Yes you did. She heard you Lucas she f*****g heard the whole conversation. s**t Lu she was finally finally starting to come around and now you just set her back. Thanks man.”

I leave Lu in my room and start walking to her room when I start smelling blood. The closer I get to her room the stronger the smell gets. I try opening her door and it’s locked. This isn’t good. She never locks her door. I pick at the lock opening it and I don’t see her anywhere; but the room smells like blood. What the hell is going on.

Then I see it. Her bathroom light is on. I knock on the door to see if she’s in there and she doesn’t respond. The smell of blood got a lot stronger by the bathroom. With one kick I break the door open and there she was passed out on the floor.

Her wrists were bleeding heavily. I rip my shirt and start tying them to apply some sort of pressure on them. I close her door locking it shut. I know she wouldn’t want anyone to see her like this especially her brothers. I scoop her into my arms and start walking it to her bed when I hear something fall to the ground. I look over and see a little orange bottle.

I lay in bed with her; just holding her and listening to her heart beat. I need to make sure her heart doesn’t stop beating. I can’t believe it. She tried to kill herself. Not only did she cut her wrists but she drank a whole bottle of meds. This isn’t her. This isn’t my sunshine. Here I am thinking she was doing better when in reality she was screaming for help.

What do I do. If I tell anyone she’ll hate me and then completely shut me out but if I don’t say anything then I run the risk of this happening again or maybe even worse. I have no idea what I’m going to do but one thing I do know is that I’m not losing her especially not this way.

“It’s ok sunshine I got you I promise.”

I rub her head just the way she likes it and I keep kissing her head. I start rocking backing and forth in her bed holding her close. I nearly lost her. I can’t lose her. She’s so amazing and doesn’t even know it. Shes the only one that truly understands me and has never judged me. She’s my everything even if she doesn’t know it. I haven’t cried in years and seeing her brought me back to when I was a child and I lost my parents; I had tears rolling down my cheek. I just keep thinking what would of happened if I didn’t come after her. Who would of found her if it wasn’t me?

It’s 4 in the morning and I haven’t slept one bit. Her wrists finally stopped bleeding and healed themselves. There’s no sign of them ever being cut. And her pulse, has gotten stronger. My poor sunshine is breaking into a million pieces but still puts a smile on her face so others don’t worry. She’s perfectly perfect.

I need some sleep even if it is for only 10 minutes. With her still in my arms I close my eyes and drift into my sleep.

What time is it? Looking over to her bed side I see it’s 8 in the morning. I need to get out of her room before she realizes I’m here. Shes going to hate the fact that I know what happened.

I quietly ease myself off her bed making her shift a little but nothing too bad. I make my way out her door and head directly to my room.

I go into the shower and turn on the cold water. I need to wash the smell of her blood off me. No one else is going to know about this.

I put on some basketball shorts and walk into the kitchen. You can feel the tension between Lu and I.

“Hey AJ”

“Hey Alice.”

“Mr. AJ have you seen Miss.Crystal? She was suppose to help me this morning?”

“She had a long night last night. I think she’s still sleeping. I can help you if you want.”

“Oh no need Mr. AJ. Thank you. Please eat some breakfast before it gets cold.”

Ms.Abigail hands me a plate of food to make sure I eat. She knows I know about Crystal eyesight problem and we both agreed not to mention a thing to anyone. I wonder if she knows about her cutting her wrists.

Mrs.Lisa and Mrs.Marisol come into the kitchen and they have a worried expression on their faces.

“Hey mom” Mikey says

“Hi son. Where is Crystal.”

“She had a rough night last night. Shes still sleeping.” I say putting food in my mouth

“Why what’s wrong mom?”

“Where is Crystal?”

“My love breath she’s in her room sleeping.”

“Did you see her sleeping?”

“No but AJ did. Right AJ”

“Yes Gamma Xavier. I checked up on her because she had a rough night and wanted to see if she was ok.”

“Dad what’s going on.”

“Don’t let her out of your sight. I’ll be back Marisol.”

“No Xavier. Please don’t go.”

“Sweet heart I’ll be back I promise.”

“Dad what’s going on?”

“Mikey take care of your mother and your sister!”

“Xavier your not going anywhere!” I hear beta Lucas say

“I told you to handle it Lucas and you didn’t. Your more worried about making her a fighter and one of a kind that you forgot who she is.”

“Don’t you f*****g dare Xavier. She’s needs to learn on her own. Do you honestly think I’ll let someone hurt her Xavier. And how many times do I have to tell you I’m handling it. If you walk out that door Xavier!”

“Or else what Lucas. She’s my daughter and I’ll be damed if I let an asshole hurt her. As a father you should be doing the same. Just because you don’t have a biological daughter doesn’t mean you don’t have one. We BOTH took an oath to keep her safe and happy. She’s neither right now Lucas. You see it in her face no matter what she tries to do no matter how many times she puts a smile on her face her eyes say a thousand words. So if you excuse me I’m going to protect my daughter.”

He walked out. Gamma Xavier walked out and everyone is running around taking their place in the house. This isn’t good. I need to make sure she’s ok. I run to her room and she’s not there. Where the hell did she go. I search her whole room and she’s not in here. s**t!!!

“Mikey!!! Lu!!!!”

“What what’s wrong?”

“She’s not here!”

“What do you mean she’s not here? You said she was sleeping AJ!”

“I know but she’s not here. f**k!”

“Nice going AJ!” Lu remarks

“Guys what’s going on? Why is everyone running around?”

“Have you seen your sister?”

“Yea she had some running gear on. Why?”

“s**t”

I dart out the door running into the woods. I don’t see her anywhere. Where the f**k did she go?

“Sunshine!!!”

“Sunshine where are you!”

I get no answer. Come AJ think if you were her where would you go?

I keep running until I hear someone singing in the distance. It’s her. I run with all the speed I have and find her sitting on a rock with white butterflies around her singing. She’s safe and in one piece.

“Sunshine. What the hell. You scared the living s**t out of me.” I say cupping her cheek

“I’m sorry AJ I didn’t mean too. I felt the sun shine come through my windows and I wanted to go for a run but I got tired and decided to take a seat. I didn’t mean to scare you.”

“Come one we need to get you home.”

“AJ your hurting me. What’s wrong”

“I don’t know but we need to go now”

“AJ someone’s coming.”

“What?”

“Duck AJ!”

Ouch. I hit my head on a rock. Where where is she.

“Crystal!”

“Crystal where are you?”

“AJ! AJ I’m stuck.”

I see her dangling from a tree. I get right under her and she falls right into my arms. We start running to the house when we start hearing g*n shots.

“What the hell is that AJ?”

“Keep running sunshine it’s ok.”

BAM BAM BAM

“Aaahhhh”

“Tuck your head in sunshine and hang on to my hand. Don’t let go ok.”

We make it to the pack house in one piece but she’s shaking. I get the guys and tell them what happened. We have all been trained for this and go to our rooms to get ready for war. Lucas is pissed that she was nearly hurt but we need to put our differences aside for now.

“Wait where are you guys going?” She asked confused.

Her senses have heightened over the past week and it’s pretty incredible.

“We will be right back little one.”

“No your not going out there.” She stands from the chair where she was sitting at

“Princess please this ain’t the time.”

“They are right sunshine. We need to go. I promise we will be right back.”

“Then I’ll go with you.”

“Sunshine you can’t.”

“Why not AJ. Iv gotten better I promise Iv been better.” She pleading to come with but I can’t; I can’t let her come.

I bring her in for a hug and tell her no. Kissing her head, I inhale her scent and tell her not to do anything stupid.

“Hey we will be right back I promise sunshine.”

“Promise me you will all come back in one piece! And you call me no matter what!”

“Crystal you know I can’t promise that.”

“Promise me AJ!”

“Ok I promise if we need you we will give you the signal ok. Now please stay in your room. Ms. Abigail please make sure she says in your sight.”

“Yes Mr. AJ” Ms. Abigail reply’s.

The three of us walk out and head to battle. It didn’t last long though which is a good thing. I need to go home and see her and make sure she’s ok. On our walk home I start to get this erie feeling that something was off.

“Hey man what’s wrong?”

“I don’t know but something off.”

“Maybe it’s your conscious eating you alive” Lu retorts

“What’s that suppose to mean?”

“You know exactly what it means AJ. Now let’s go everyone must be worried.”

BAM BAM BAM

I fall to the ground holding my stomach. I was shot. I can see Lu beating the crap out of some rogue. There a lot of blood coming out. s**t s**t s**t s**t s**t

“Lu we gotta go now. He’s losing too much blood. Hang on man”

“Lucas finish it now and let’s go!”

It must be bad since Mikey called Lu by Lucas. Mikey helps me up and I’m still applying pressure to my stomach.

“Hey keep your eyes open man. Don’t go to sleep.”

I end up passing out and waking up with a beeping monitor next to me.

“Ugh. What happened?”

“Careful AJ” I hear Mikey say

“I’ll go let the nurse know he’s up.” Lu walks out in a hurry.

I see Mikey sitting next to me and my sunshine passed out on a couch next to me.

“She hasn’t moved from that spot. She gave us a good yelling after freaking out when we told her what happened.”

“How long have I been out for?”

“About 2 days. They shot you with a silver bullet and it hit your intestine. Doc said if we didn’t get you to the hospital right away you would of died”

“You should of seen her when doc told us he was going to have to do surgery and told her she couldn’t help during it. She let everyone have it.”

“Look man, I know you know what wrong with her. I’m not going to ask you to tell me, but what I am going to do is ask you to protect her. She trust you fully, so don’t let her down.”

Mikey’s wrong she doesn’t fully trust me. If she did, she wouldn’t have tried to kill herself. Dr.Manson comes in with Lu and his dad. They tell me that I’m healing pretty good for being shot with a silver bullet. I’m also going to be sore for a couple of days.

“What’s going on?”

“Princess it’s ok go back to sleep.”

“No. What’s wrong!? Why is the doc here?”

“Hi sunshine.”

“AJ!”

I feel her wrap her arms around me and squeeze me tight. I can feel her tears. My poor sunshine, I scared the s**t out of you. I’m so sorry.

“We will leave you two. Come guys the doctor wants to let us know the proper protocol for AJ” Beta Lucas says.

I pat the bed so she can hop on and lay down next to me. She cuddles up against my body and it feels like home. We start talking and catch up on the past two days. She scolds me for not calling her and continues to tell me how I scared the s**t out of her. I wonder if she was as scared as I was when I found her.

“Hey what’s wrong?”

“Nothing. Why?”

“Because I know you. I might be blind but not stupid AJ. What’s wrong babe.”

“What. What’s wrong? Why are you looking at me that way?”

“How you know I’m looking at you?”

“Because of the way your breathing. Plus I can just tell.”

“Why did you do it?”

“Why did I do what?”

I could utter the words; I couldn’t even look at her. I wrap her fingers in mine and kiss her hand.

“It was you, wasn’t it. Don’t touch me.”

“Wait sunshine don’t go.”

“You wouldn’t understand.”

“Then explain it to me sunshine.”

“There’s nothing to explain AJ. I’m an orphan, my brothers are orphans, I’m a blind princess who constantly has people trying to kill her. I have others being blamed for things that are my fault.This is all my fault AJ. Things would be so much easier without me here. I mean my uncle Lucas hates me; my uncle Xavier is constantly fighting with him. The guys are upset with me. And did I mention I’m f*****g blind!”

“Sunshine. Come here it’s ok”

“No it’s not fine AJ. You shouldn’t have to be punished because of me. Maybe it would be easier without me here”

“Promise me you will never do that again.” I tell her

“Sunshine promise me you will never hurt yourself like that again.”

“Only if you promise to call me next time.”

“Your stubborn you know that.”

“I know but you love it.”

“That can be arguable but I do need you here. We all need you sunshine; please.”

“I promise AJ. I promise I won’t ever do it again.”

“Good.”

She sits on top of me and wraps her arms around me. I can feel her heart beat and it matches mine. I give her, her head kisses that she loves so much. She tilts her head up and flashes me her famous smile. I can see her adorable dimples. She’s so amazing. Those big brown eyes do say a million words. I give her bunny kisses which makes her giggle. God that little laugh of hers drives me crazy. I’m inches away from her lips and I can hold back anymore. I kiss her and it wasn’t what I expected. She kissed me back. My sunshine kisses me back.

I’m so hungry for her it’s unbelievable. I don’t just need her in my life I want her in my life. She’s mine all mine. I ask her for access with my tongue and surprisingly she gives it to me. I bite her lip making her moan. She kisses me hard pulling my hair. My sunshine likes it rough, who would of known. God she’s so hot.

Beast: That a boy! It’s about f*****g time

Me: Shut up.

Beast: She’s perfect AJ

Me: Yea she is. Now go away.

We hear a knock on the door making her jump off me falling on the floor making me laugh at her reaction. She gets up brushing herself off.

“You ok princess?”

“Yea uncle Lucas. I just realized there’s a stain on my shirt.” She replies

“Oh ok. Well I need to talk to AJ.”

“Sounds good I was heading out. I’ll um see you guys later. Bye”

“Ouch.”

She’s panicking so bad she walked straight into a wall. I can’t help but laugh a little.

“You ok princess. Here take a seat.”

“Ooh no I’m ok. I was just making sure the wall was sound proof. It is. Ok bye” and she runs out the room

She’s so freaking cute. Beta Lucas informed me of what happened and how I’m not allowed to train for the next couple of days until I’m completely healed.

“Xavier will come get you in a couple of hours for when your discharged.”

“Ok thanks Mr. Lucas.”

I tried to pay attention to Beta Lucas but my mind was still on my sunshine. Her beautiful smile. Those juicy pink lips. The way her body responded to mine. She’s so soft and taste so sweet. My sunshine is so amazing I can’t get enough of her.
