Summer Time Part 1

Crystal POV

Good morning everyone”

“Good morning princess, how did you sleep?”

“Amazing. It’s been weeks since I slept that good. Any news on the pack back home?”

“Everyone is accounted for. So there’s something I need to discuss with you princess”

It felt like a dream. A wonderful wonderful dream that I never wanted to end. There was dancing, food, laughter and did I mention food. I woke up feeling rested and energized. I feel like the energizer bunny in the battery commercial banging on the drums. As I’m sitting down for breakfast my uncle Lucas words scare me a little he doesn’t really use the word DISCUSS unless it’s serious.

“What’s up uncle Lucas.”

“Well I know it’s the middle of summer but I was wondering if you wants to spend the rest of the summer here with the boys and Alice.”

“Are you kidding me!!!!! Yes I would love to spend the summer back here. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!”

I run up to the others bedrooms I start off at Mikeys room. I bust the door open jumping on his bed

“Mikey Mikey Mikey wake up guess what!!!!”

“It’s too early Crystal go back to bed”

“Mikey you have to get up”

“What’s all the yelling about”

“Luuuu!!!!! Guess what Lu! Uncle Lucas said we can stay in Chicago for the rest of the summer! I’m so excited!”

“That’s great princess. But your being a little loud”

“I’m excited Lu. Hurry and get dressed so we can all have breakfast. Max, David, Julius time to get up. It’s breakfast time”

As I’m walking back to the kitchen both my uncles and aunts are sitting at the table.Looking me weirdly

“Pumpkin are you ok. We heard you screaming all the way down here.”

“Mmmmhm. Uncle Lucas just told me we can all stay here for the rest of the summer and I’m just super excited.”

“Princess before we head back to the pack house there are some ground rules and documents that you need to go over ok.”

“Ok uncle Lucas. Can we go over the documents after breakfast”

“Sure sweet heart”

After everyone eats breakfast, we head to my study and my uncle Lucas starts reviewing some documents with me.

“Hey uncle Lucas what does this mean???”

“Let me see princess. This means that the alpha wants at least 60% of the company.”

“Yea that’s not going to happen. Why would I put in most of the money to just have 40%. Alpha Black is insane. This contract is a joke. If things go south we’re the ones who get screwed in the end. I’m not signing this under no circumstances. Uncle Lucas you can call Alpha Black and let him know that Alpha Gonzalez reviewed his contract and my answer is NO. He’s out of his mind.”

“Ok princess I will give him a call. Here are some other pack documents that need to be reviewed.”

After reviewing all of my pack documents it’s nice to see how much we have grown. Now it’s time for this awesome phone call.

“Hey uncle Lucas put it on speaker I want to hear the call please”

“ Ok sweetheart”

*RING RING RING*

“Hello Beta Ash of Shadow Pack speaking”

“Hello Beta Ash, this is Beta Lucas from the Blood Moon Pack. I’m calling to speak to Alpha Black. Is he available?”

“What is this referring to beta?”

“It’s referring to a matter that is trying to be arranged. Is he available if not I will call back later on”

“Let me see if he’s available give me one second”

“Hello Alpha Black speaking”

“Hello Alpha Black good afternoon, this is Beta Lucas from the Blood Moon Pack. My Alpha reviewed the contract and they declined your offer”

“DECLINE!!! What do you mean he DECLINES my offer. Where is your Alpha I want to speak to him immediately!”

“ Im sorry alpha Black that’s not possible. My Alpha is not available at the moment, but I can let them know that you would like to speak to them when they are free.”

“What do you mean he’s not available! Where the hell is he!!!”

“They are out on business and won’t return until the end of the summer.”

“Tell your piece of s**t Alpha that I will see them at the end of the summer!”

*Hangs up*

“Wow he’s a piece of work tio Lucas.”

“ I know sweetie, but don’t listen to him your a great alpha.”

“Thanks uncle Lucas. I’m going to go for a run by the lake. I’ll be back in a couple of hours.”

“ I want you home by 5 ok sweetheart.”

“Ok uncle Lucas”

I know alphas have an issue when their ego and pride get hurt but really, was that really necessary. He doesn’t even know me and he’s already calling me an asshole. I walk into my room and go directly to my closet and pull out some navy blue running shorts, a sports b*a and a purple sport short sleeve shirt with my black running shoes. As I start to walk out of the house I scream

“I’ll be back. Love you guys”

I shut the door quick before anyone can ask me any questions. I put my head phones on and start running. I run like my life depended on it. I’m so into my music that I don’t even notice that I ran all the way to Navy Pier.

Uncle Lucas point of view

I’m sitting at the kitchen table rereading this contract from Black and I can’t believe he tried to give us a bullshit deal. Im very good at reading contracts and making sure they are acceptable but this one; it fooled me and I don’t understand how.

“Honey have you seen Crystal, I can’t find her.”

“Sweet heart did you hear me, baby what are you looking at”

“I can’t believe she caught that. I looked over this contract 3 times and I didn’t catch it, she looked at it once and saw exactly what he was trying to pull.”

“Honey what are you talking about?”

“I’m talking about this contract from Black.”Walking into the kitchen I hear Xavier:

“Hey Lucas what’s up man. You look stress what’s going on.”

“It’s this f*****g contract. Black tried to pull a fast one on me and he would have if Crystal didn’t go over it and just signed it.”

“Let me take a look”

“Oh s**t. What the hell. This is a joke right? Look Lucas we aren’t perfect we all make mistakes. Cut your self a break, if it’s not one thing with the pack it’s another. Like you said she caught it which means she’s getting better and reading in between the lines. She’s good with listening to her gut and her heart.”

“But what if she didn’t look over it like how she does it sometimes Xavier! Then what. We all would of been s**t out of luck and that would of been on me. She’s gone through enough the last thing we need is her having to redo everything she has worked so hard to get.”

“Honey Xavier is right you need to relax a little. She’s getting better at her job and why do I have the feeling of your not saying the whole truth about Black. How did the phone call go?”

“Like how I expected. He was pissed off and threw a tantrum.”

“AND?!?!? What else happened on that phone call honey?”

“Lucas what happened on the phone call with Black???”

“Mmmmmmmphm. He asked for our alpha I told him that they were out on business and wouldn’t return until the end of summer.”

“AND!!!” I heard both my wife and Xavier say.

“And he called her a piece of s**t alpha and for her to be ready at the end of the summer.”

Say those words come out of my mouth hurt me. It hurt me not to defend my princess over the phone but I knew better. We all agreed after our horrible attack a couple of years ago that we would do anything to keep her safe and to keep her brothers safe so I played it off. Xavier snaps me out of my thoughts with a huge growl:

“HE SAID WHAT!!!”

“What’s all the yelling about? Dad what’s wrong?” I hear Mikey ask all worried.

“You were her beta Lucas. Your suppose to protect her no matter what!”

“Don’t you dare scold me like a child Xavier. I know my place so I suggest you remember yours.”

“Honey calm down. There’s no need for this”

“I know my place and as her ex gamma I would of said something. You should of said some thing Lucas. Look I’m sorry for yelling just please tell him she didn’t hear it”

“Ummm hello guys what’s going on. What’s wrong with Crystal?”

Unable to answer Xaviers or Mickeys question I look down at the floor rubbing the back of my neck.

“That’s it he’s f*****g dead!”

That’s when we hear her.

“No he’s not.”

“Crystal where did you go”

“I went for a run I needed to think.”

“Uncle Xavier thank you for caring so much and I love you for that but you need to relax. I’ll be ready for him at the end of summer.”

“But sweet heart Lucas should of defended you”

“Tio Lucas did his best. Black is something else. Plus I kind of want him to come to the palace. The best way to hurt an alpha is to go for their ego. He’s not only be rejected in front of everyone but he will be rejected by a 15 year old girl who has alpha blood in her veins. So with that said I’m going to shower and be in my room.”

Crystal’s POV

I walk into my room turn on my music and take a nice long peaceful shower. I start singing in the shower and dancing a little. By the time I realize it my music stops playing indicating that’s Iv been in there for about an hour. I come out wrap my self up in my towels and grab some very comfy pjs. I pick a baby blue cotton pj set that has pants and a small top and walk out of my room and head for the dinning room.

“Hey guys what’s for dinner”

“Hey sis aren’t you hot in pants.” Dave reply’s.

“No I’m actually cold”

“Hey mamas what’s for dinner” Sam asks me walking into the dinning room.

“I don’t know but go get Max, Lucas, AJ, Mickey and Alice. Tell them it’s time for dinner”

“Ok sis. MAX, LUCAS, MIKEY, AJ, ALICE ITS TIME FOR DINNER!”

“ If I wanted to scream I could of done that Sam. Next time GO GET THEM!”

Once everyone is seated and with their plates we all start conversing about the summer and what we want to do before school starts. My uncle Xavier and uncle Lucas grab all of our attention:

“Since we are on the topic of summer vacation or what ever is left of it, it’s time to discuss our rules for you youngsters” my uncle Xavier begins.

“You all will be staying at Crystal’s grandma Maria’s house. You will obey her rules. What ever she says goes and there’s no other way around it. If she needs help you help her. If she needs anything at all you do it for her. Am I understood”

“Yes gamma Xavier. We understand” we all say at the same time.

“We are leaving tomorrow morning. Lucas, Mikey you two are going to be left with the Range Rovers. You two will do the driving am I understood!” Mikey and Lucas nod their head at beta Lucas agreeing to his statement. After we finish discussing everything, we all head to the living room to watch a movie.

“Hey guys what do you want to watch?” I ask Lucas,Mikey,Alice,Max, Dave,Sam and AJ.

“Let’s watch 22 Jump Street” Mikey says.

“Yea let’s watch it.” Max says

I had Dave put the movie in while Alice and I got covers, pillows and a couple of snacks (pop, Oreos, popcorn, gummy bears and m&ms). We all pick out our spots in the living room and I sit in between AJ and Lucas while Mikey is laying in front of me. We are half way through the movie when I start yawning. It’s like if AJ and Lucas read my mind because AJ started rubbing my head while Luca started rubbing my feet. Next thing I know I’m being tucked in my room.

Next Day:

I wake up to the brightness of the sun blinding me completely. It’s such a beautiful day; I get up right away to shower and get dressed since today I’m moving into my grandmas house for the rest of the summer. I’m so excited, my grandma is not just my grandma she practically raised me with my grandfather and my Tia Magda. I walk into the kitchen and I’m greeted by everyone. We all eat our breakfast and start packing the trucks to go to my grandmas house.

“ you do realize that I won’t be able to hold you as much right princess” Lucas says through mind link

“I know but I think I’ll be ok. She knows exactly how to help me when I don’t even ask her”

We drive in silence and by the time we reach my grandmas house it’s 2 in the afternoon. My grandmother is very old school. She does not believe in boys and girls sharing a room or for girls to be showing too much skin. So she puts Alice in her own room, I share my room with my grandma and the rest of the boys get the apartment on the lower level. We get settled in and start helping her with dinner. We all start talking about our summer plans and how there’s a Cubs game the next day at 5 pm that we had tickets too. She wasn’t thrilled but I was able to convince her to let us go. We help her clean up and we all get ready for bed because the next day is going to be one hell of a day.

I wake up to the smell of bacon and to the sound of Vicente Fernandez playing on full blast; ooh did I mention it’s only 7 in the morning. Yup this is what it’s like waking up in a Mexican house hold. I get up saying good morning to my grandma and I see Alice coming down from the attack with pillows around her ears.

“Why is it so loud?”

I start laughing. I’m use to this. This was my life for the first 6 years of my life and I would do anything to go back to it. I hear the boys coming up from the apartment from down stairs and man do Mikey, Lucas and AJ look good with out a shirt especially AJ. Wtf is wrong with me no he’s a warrior I think in my head. Then I see my brothers coming up right behind them wearing shirts. And I hear Max teasing them

“Dude I suggest you guys run back down and get some shirts”

They look at him all confused until my grandma turns around to greet them

“You three put some shirts on NOW! There are young ladies here. Now go before I throw my chancla at you the three”

We all start laughing. I have never seen them run so fast away from food before it was hilarious I was nearly in tears. I help my grandma in the kitchen and we start talking like old time and she tells me that she has a doctors appointment coming up because of her knees. Everyone senses my uneasiness because of it. I hate hearing that she’s in pain. So being me and her knowing what I am I have everyone clean up and I use my X-ray vision to see whats exactly going wrong.

“Artemis are you seeing this”

“Yea it’s all bone on bone contact. Her Cartilage is completely gone on both her knees.”

I tell my grandma what I see and she starts crying. I know she’s in pain and I hate the fact that she’s constantly taking a ton of pills for her different health problems so I place my hands on her knees and I sing I sing as loud as I can. By the time the song is done she’s no longer in pain and she’s more at ease but me on the other hand I’m completely drained. See one of my major powers is absorption. I can absorb energy from others in pain and in the process of doing that I heal people whether it’s mentally, spiritually or physically. I help my grandmother stand, I help her come out of the bedroom and I have her do minor exercises like picking something off the floor or going up the stairs and coming down just to see how she feels and not to toot my own horn but she looks great. But I’m drained in every aspect. I let everyone know that I’m going to take a quick nap before the game and for them to wake me when it’s time to go.

Game Time:

“Ok guys I’m ready”

“Dam little one your on time and ready to go!”

“Duh it’s a Cubs game. Do you really think I’ll be late for a Cubs game. Do you not know me at all”

Everyone is surprised at the fact that I’m ready to go. We all say our good byes to my grandma and separate into Mikey and Lucas Rovers. I go into Mikey’s Rover, turn the radio on and crank up the music as we start our drive to Wrigley. Mikey puts his hand on my thigh and starts to rub it as he laughing at my singing and dance moves. We make it to the field and they drive up to the VIP Parking which is great because I didn’t want to walk the 6 blocks just to get cheap parking. After we park there’s this guy waiting for at at the entrance with a giant smile on his face he looks like he’s in his early 20’s.

“Hello everyone my name is Leo and I will be your guide for today”

I’m all confused and start asking 20 million questions. I’m told to relax and to enjoy the day. So Leo walks us into the building and takes us directly to the 2016 World Series Trophy. I’m in aw that my jaw drops and I’m like a child in a candy store. After taking pictures we are guided to this hallway and it’s the locker. I’m internally freaking out. Leo knocks on the door and it’s the whole baseball team. I’m completely speechless. I quickly turn around with my eyes ready to pop out of my head and I kept shaking my head no. No no no no, omg no. Everyone was laughing at my reaction. A couple players came up to us to introduce them self and I was forced around by AJ to meet the guys on the team. They tell me happy birthday and that there’s one more surprise. We are walking with the team to the field and I still haven’t said a word. We get on the field and the team starts to warm up when I’m told I’ll be throwing the first pitch, and that’s when I lost it. I did my girly high pitch scream and ran to give everyone a hug, I nearly knock over a couple of players forgetting my own strength. I ask if it’s ok to throw the baseball around since we all had our gloves I got the ok and had my brothers going deep. The Cubs manager was surprised at how far I can throw the ball that he asked if I can do that to a couple of his players and of course being a fan girl I said yes. Then it came to the first pitch. I was introduced and it went amazing. I threw the baseball to Contreras the Cubs back catcher making his glove pop from the impact. Let’s just say I got a lot of curious looks like they never seen a girl throw a 89 mph baseball before right down the middle. We walk to the stands to take our seat when I get a text message

*PING*

Moy:Hey are you at the Cubs game today?

Me: Heyyy. Yea why what’s up???

Moy: I saw you in the jumbo tran where are you guys sitting?

Me: Omg you saw me!!!! We are on seats 220 you guys should come sit with us. Who are you with???

Moy: it’s just me and Bobby well head that way.

Me: ok sweet we will see you guys here then

“Hey guys Moy and Bobby are going to come sit with us for the game”

“What no way their here?” Max asks surprised

“Yea and they are going to sit with us since we got 2 extra seats”

Everyone nods at me saying Ok. As we get to our seats I see my cousins but I also get this feeling of I’m being watched. We all take our seats and I start talking to Alice and she notices I keep looking over my shoulder.

“Hey you ok”

“Mmmmhm. I just I heard someone call my name.”

She knows somethings up so takes me to the bathroom to get some air and it helped a lot. When get back to our seats I lock eyes this really cute boy with the bluest eyes with a slight hint of green in them. He’s a wolf and a very powerful one. He smirkes at me, but I’m not one to give in to cute boys. I take my seat next to AJ and I give him a kiss on the cheek making him look at me and give me a big smile. We all enjoy the game talking, laughing and singing for the seventh inning stretch. The final score of the game is 6-3. The Cubs won against the Cardinals.

We get home around 10 pm and my grandma is still up waiting for us. We all talk to her and tell her how the game went she’s so happy that we had fun but she doesn’t like that we were invited to a bbq on my dads side of the family. I tell her we would only go for a little bit and then come back. I hate going to their bbqs but I do it for my brothers; they deserve to see our cousins that are nice to us. She scolds me a little saying that I know better than to go over there since they didn’t even attend my parents funeral; to be honest only a couple of people went from my dads side to pay their respects but at the end I don’t care I know where I stand with them and if wasn’t for my father they wouldn’t have what they have. We go back and forth for a few then I just say ok to appease her. I go to the refrigerator to see what we have since I’m hungry and I see that it’s a complete mess and the food doesn’t look good.

“Ma que esta pasando aqui. Ma mire la comida ya no esta buena. (Mom what’s going on here?! The food doesn’t look good.)”

“Mija es me refre. Como que la comida no esta buena. Que es el dia que tiene la comida? (Well it’s my refrigerator, and what do you mean the food is no good what’s the expiration date on it?)”

“Ma toda esta comida no esta buena mañana vamos al tienda para comprar comida. (Mom this food is all expired, we will go to the store and get you some groceries)”.

After my conversation with my grandma I mind link Mikey and Lucas

Me: hey guys so who wants to go with me to the store tomorrow morning with grandma?

Mikey: what time are you guys getting up

Me: idk she gets up early so latest 8 I think.

Lu: I can take you guys if you want

Me: ok thank you. Mikey since your going to stay back I need help finding a refrigerator for her. I need same day delivery and it has to be nice for her she definitely needs a new one, there’s no budget. And use the rest of the group to help you look.

Mikey: no budget sweet.

Lu: that doesn’t mean spend $13,000 on it either. She’s old Mickey simple and nice is what she needs.

Mikey: FINE! I just upgrade her a little then.

Me:Ooh one last thing I need to take her for some new glasses too. The ones she has are all scratched and old.

Lu: Do you want to do that after shopping tomorrow?

Me: no that will be too much. I think I can do that on Wednesday and that way hopefully we can get her refrigerator here on that day too. Double surprise.

Lu: sounds good little one. Good night

Mikey: I found some online I’ll send you guys the links.

Me: ok thank you Mickey. Love you guys good night.

Mikey: love you too night little one.

After that conversation I start a group mind link:

Me: good night guys love you.

Dave: night sis love you too

Mikey: night little one love you too

Alice: good night girly see you tomorrow

Lu: good night princess I’ll see you tomorrow morning

Max: good night Crystal love you too

Sam: night mamas see you tomorrow

AJ: good night sunshine I’ll see you tomorrow.

With that everyone goes to sleep.

Over the next couple of days we’re able to take grandma grocery shopping, pick a refrigerator that is stainless steel and that has a touch panel its really nice. It comes in the next day which is great and we were able to get grandma 3 pair of new glasses. She is so happy which makes me happy and to put the icing on the cake we have taken her to the cemetery to see my grandfather more than once. Everything was going amazing, I didn’t want it to end.
