What’s Wrong?

“Anything yet?” I say standing in my father’s office soon to be mine.

“No. Sorry my prince. We have searched everywhere and it’s like she doesn’t exist.”

“Then look harder. She’s your future queen now find her!” I growled

“We’re trying Vincenzo but it’s not easy. Look man I know she’s your mate but there’s literally no trace of her anywhere. It’s like she doesn’t want to found. We have even hacked into Europe and nothing.”

“Liam I need to find her.”

“We will keep looking and I’ll let you know if something comes up but it’s been weeks Vin. The chances are becoming slimmer every day.”

“You come and get me no matter what you find. Now go find her.”

Liam’s right. It’s been weeks and nothing. It’s like she really doesn’t exist but I know she’s real. That slap in the face was real and it took a couple of days to heal. Where you my love? Please come back to me.

“Vincenzo there’s trouble in the Wood Wind Pack! We need to go now!” Liam says running into my soon to be office

“What is it?”

“It’s vampires. Apparently there was a high school party at the beach and a bunch of vampires showed up unexpectedly. Alpha Stuart is meeting us there.”

“Any deaths?” I ask concerned

“None that I know of.”

I hate unwanted guests in my territory! Alpha Stuart is one hell of an alpha and for him to call us isn’t a good thing. We are on our way to the Wood Wind Pack when I start getting is sudden pain in my stomach as if I was punched in the gut. Then I get hit with a massive pain in my head. It feels like I hit a brick wall.

“Hurry up Liam. We should have already been there 20 minutes ago.”

“I’m going as fast as I can Vin”

Finally we are here. What the hell happened? Everyone looks to be alive and in great shape for fighting vampires.

“How many vampires did you say were here?”

“Enough to have Stuart call us. Why?”

“This doesn’t make sense. It reeks of vampires and for a wolf pack to fight off a large number of vampires without their Alpha or King. It just doesn’t make sense.”

“Maybe Alpha Stuart is as good as they say he is.”

“Or they got lucky.” I say lifting an eye brow

Everyone senses my presence and show me their respect by bowing their heads. I’m greeted by Alpha Stuart and his son Derek. I signal the rest of the pack to finish cleaning the mess and finish burning the vampire pieces in the fire they have going. Iv never met this Alpha before but I heard nothing but great things from everyone else. Let see if the rumors are true.

“Hello Alpha Prince Vincenzo. I’m sorry for disturbing you at this time but my pack was under attack by vampires. They were able to kill some but the rest got away.”

Right in the middle of my conversation with the alpha, Dragan decided to chime in. He really does pick the right time.

Dragan: You smell that?

Me: What the blood?

Dragan: No stupid. The sweet smell! Follow it

“So your telling me your pack fought off all of these vampires?” I hear Liam ask

“Yes.” Is all comes out from the soon to be alpha

I walk towards him and he smells sweet. Where have I smelled such sweetness before?

Then it hits me. She was here! What the hell was she doing with him. How dare he touch his queen. She’s mine! With out a second thought I lunge myself at him trying to tear him to shreds.

“Alpha prince Vincenzo let go.” Liam says trying to hold me back

“Where is she?” I snarl at this prick

Liam is able to pull me off that so called piece of s**t soon to be alpha.

“I have no idea who your talking about. Look around you! It was a party. It was filled with people from different places. And if you haven’t noticed my people were attacked. Instead of trying to kill me for no reason you should be trying to find those vampires who invaded your kingdom and tried to kill your people.”

“Who are you to tell me what I should and shouldn’t do? You have her smell all over you. She’s mine you pathetic pup. Now you tell me where she is before I lose my patience and rip your head off!” I growl

“Oh s**t” Liam blurts out

“I’m sorry my Alpha Prince but I don’t know her name or who she came with but I think I know who your talking about.” He says lowering his head

“Spill it NOW!” I give a menacing growl

“There was a girl from a different pack here. She was different than the rest of the females. She didn’t give anyone attention. I had never seen here before. She’s part of the reason why my people are still alive”

“What do you mean”

“She arrived with a handful of people and she was the first one to notice the vampires. She had sent away her people and stood behind with two of her friends. She warned me before the fight actually started but it was too late. She stood behind and fought along side my men and risked her life for ours.”

“You let her do what!” I say lifting him up off the ground

“She didn’t want to leave. She said she understood this was my pack and my land and understood what was at stake. She followed my direct orders and left right before you got here. She’s in one piece. The guys she came with made sure nothing happened to her.”

“What guys? You sure she’s ok?” I say still hold him from his collar

“Yes, I’m positive. I wouldn’t be alive if she wasn’t trust me.”

Dragan: Our little mate is stronger than she looks.

Me: I know. She was so close by. I smell her everywhere now.

Dragan: Vin we need to find her.

Me: We will I give you my word D.

Me: Liam close the boarders! Make sure no one gets in or out. She was here. I smell her everywhere. I want a list of names of every single person at this party and where they are from what pack they belong too. I want their whole life story!

Liam: Vin it’s a party you know how difficult that will be.

Me: I don’t f*****g care. Get it done. You have 3 days to find her. The boarders will stay close until then.

Liam: Will do my Alpha Prince.

I can’t believe she was within arms reach and I didn’t realize it. At least now I’m one step closer to finding her.

“Hey you ok?” Liam asks me confused

“Yea why?”

“Because you look like your in pain.”

“No I’m fine”

He’s right though. I’m in pain but it’s tolerable. My head is pounding and I’m thirsty extremely thirsty if I must add. What’s going on with me.

My men and I helped Alpha Stuart and Derek finish cleaning the mess that was created a couple of hours before.

I need to go for a run. I need to decompress and get away. She’s driving me crazy. Knowing that she’s near by and not having her with me is driving me insane. I want her next to me to rule along side me. She’s strong, brave and understanding. She’s my type of girl. More like she is my girl.

Once I get home I go directly to my father’s office to explain to him what happened and he is also amazed at the fact that the Wood Wind Pack is still alive. I let him know that I’m going to go for a run.

I get back home from my run and I’m completely drenched in sweat. I walk into the kitchen to get myself a cup of water accidentally bumping into my mother.

“Out for a run again?”she asked worried

“Yea” I say chugging my cup of water

“That’s every day this week Vin. It’s that bad huh.”

“I can’t get her out of my head mom. I was so close to her today and I missed her. How could I of missed her especially when she was on our territory?”

“You will find her son. The moon goddess put her in your path for a reason. Everything is done for a reason remember that.” She says giving me a kiss on my head before walking out.

My mother might be right about the moon goddess putting a strong, brilliant little mate in my path but how could she be so cruel in taking her away from me before actually getting to know her. This isn’t how I pictured my life to be when I would find my mate.

I pictured us together getting to know one another. We would be laughing and planning our ceremony and probably with a pup or two on the way. But this is the complete opposite. The moon goddess wants me to work for my mate and prove that I’m worthy of her love that’s exactly what I’ll do. I’ll find her and love her until my last dying breath and even after I’m dead she will be mine.

“Ouch what the hell! Dragan what’s going on? My head is pounding and what the hell is going on with my sight?”

Dragan: I don’t know what’s going on but it’s not me. Something’s wrong

My body is in so much pain. I try to get off my bed and end up falling right off it. I’m able to get up and semi stabilize myself but my sight is so blurry. I take small steps so I won’t hurt myself in any shape or form and all I hear is crashing on the floor. Being so focused on not hurting myself I end up stubbing my toes in my desk making me lose my balance and hitting my lamp making it fall to the ground.

“Oh my! Your majesty are you ok let me help you.”

“Its alright. I got it.” Pushing my maid’s hand off me

“What’s going on in here?” I hear my mother’s voice and it’s not very happy.

“My queen. I don’t know. I heard crashing and found the prince on the floor.” The maid says panicking.

“Mom I’m fine.”

“Let me see. Son what were you doing? Your hot like burning hot! Get me the doctor now!” She yells at the maid

“Yes my queen”

I can’t see right. All I see a blob running out my door. I shake my head trying to put my vision in place like it was going to work but it just makes things worse.

“Vin don’t do that it makes things worse.” It’s just as if my mother could read my mind.

***Knock Knock***

“Come in” my mother yells

“Hi there prince Vincenzo. I heard you weren’t feeling good and had a couple of falls.”

“Hi Dr. Castles. I don’t know what your talking about I’m fine.”

“Ok let me see. Breath in and out three times.”

“How does he sound?”

“His lunges are good and healthy my queen. While I check your eyes do you kindly mind explaining to me what you did last night. Did you do anything out of the norm? Have you been under more stress lately?”

“Last night I went for a run. And…..”

“Follow my finger ok. And what…”

“Mom can you excuse the doctor and I please.”

“Ok son. I’ll be right outside.”

“Thank you.”

I take a deep breath and explain to the doctor everything that has been going on.

“Wait how close where you to your mate?”

“Close enough to have her slap me. And I smelled her scent non stop yesterday. Why”

He doesn’t respond to me. What’s going on?

“Helllo doctor! What’s going on? What does my mate have to do with this?”

“I want to run a couple of MRIs and CT scans to rule out any possible blood clots.”

Every test came back negative. They blamed my blurry vision in stress; but that’s a load of bullshit something’s wrong. I was given a pair of glasses that help with the blurriness but I still have a massive migraine. I have a meeting with my father today in regards to a couple of deals and then it’s off to training.

The meeting lasted hours and nothing got done. My father and I don’t see eye to eye on certain things and money is one of them. I guess that’s what to expect when your father has a gambling addiction. He has put my mother and I through so much I’ll be damned if I let him hurt us again.

I need to go let off some steam. I head straight for training and start sparing with Liam.

“I’m assuming the meeting went to s**t”

“What gave it away?” I say pissed off

“The fact that your trying to kill me right now.”

“Well maybe if you shut up I wouldn’t want to kill you.” I say giving Liam a double jab to the face.

“Ok now I’m done being nice!” Liam said pissed off.

Liam hits me with his famous 1 2 combo and a round house kick knocking me off my feet. I get up off the floor, tackling him to the ground giving him 12 to 6 elbows.

We roll around in the dirt with the rest of the pack looking at us.

Liam and I go at it for longer than usual. I guess he had to let off some steam as well. Both of us are all covered in dirt and blood.

“You feeling better Vin?”

“Yea! You?” I ask Liam

“Yea I’m good. Who would of known my future sister in-law would of been so good at hiding.”

“Liam what if she doesn’t want to be found? We have been looking for weeks and can’t seem to find her. All we know is that she was at the beach party and had the smell of Lycans around her but that’s it.”

“Hey we’ll find her Vin don’t worry we’ll find her. Plus I wanna have a few words with this chick cuz your being a bigger pain in our asses than normal and I also want to give her my sincerest apologies because she’s going to be stuck with your a*s forever.” He says laughing

He thinks he’s funny.

“Keep in mind I can easily kill you Liam”

“Awww man I love you too. Now if you excuse me your highness I have a queen to find.”

He’s lucky we’re best friends. If it wasn’t for that I’m pretty sure he would be dead already.

“Hey Vin mom says to go wash up and get ready for dinner.”

“Tell her I’m not hungry and have a lot of paperwork I have to do.”

“Come on Vin you gotta eat. The doctor said you need to eat the proper nutrition in order to help with the headaches”

“Abby I said no. This conversation is over.”

“Vin I know it hurts being with out her but she would want you to eat.If you don’t want to do it for yourself do it for her at least. Please Vin let’s go have some dinner”

She’s right. How did my little sister become so wise. We walk into the dining room and take our seats next to each other. Abby takes one look at me and my hands, and let’s say her facial expressions say a thousand words.

Dinner was going great. My mother brought up my 18th birthday ceremony. Once I turn 18, I will become a full Lycan and take over the thrown for my father. Everyone from different packs and parts of the world are gathering together to see the shift of a new royal and see him take the thrown. It’s tradition that everyone comes.

“Oh Ana I was thinking we should have light pink flowers as centerpieces”

“Chelsea this is my sons first shift and he will not have pink flowers.”

“But Ana the will look great along side the white flowers your having.”

Did she seriously suggest pink? Seriously pink?!? I mean out of all the colors of the rainbow she said pink.

My mother and Chelsea bicker back and forth about colors for a couple of minutes. My mother continues to speak about the ceremony ignoring Chelsea and her stupid requests. She then goes on about our Lycan ball that happens every five years and this year it’s our turn to host it and how it’s going to be even more special since a new royal will be hosting it.

Royals from all over come to the ball in order to find their mates, and to mingle with other royals and some of their most loyal pack members tag along as well.

Both of these gatherings are a month apart. I hope I find my beautiful mate by then. I would love to have her by my side during my first shift and to show her off at the ball. I would show her off everywhere we’d go. I’d make sure everyone knows she’s mine and only mine.
