“There’s a party tonight.” Lucas joins Samuel and I in the grass as I shake my head nodding to Adrian.
“There’s no way I’m going.” I tell him as he pouts. “Adrian is my own little party.”
“Can’t your grandma watch him?” He ask.
“She’s pulling a double today, so it’s just him and I.” I explain watching him run across the field holding the ball to his body as Travis and another player chases him.
“Maybe my mom can watch him! She loves babies.” He volunteers as I shake my head.
“I’m not going to throw Adrian on your mother. You can’t offer up your moms night like that.” I scowl him as he rolls his eyes.
“His mom might want to. She’s been trying for another but all she has is this d**k head.” Samuel explains as I try and figure what facial expression I want to use to this new information. I feel bad because I know trying for a baby is hard sometimes but I wanted to roll my eyes at Samuel for calling him a d**k head when my designated brother is far from that. Maybe she can adopt me and orphan Lucas.
“We can ask her, and then go from there.”

We slide by my house grabbing a party outfit and a baby bag for Adrian before going to Lucas house. For one Lucas wasn’t the safest driver, this was the last time I would ever ride with him and I was scared for Adrian’s life but he was enjoying the reckless driving.
“Mother.” Lucas calls through the house as we head to the kitchen to see his mother waiting.
“Hey baby, ho- oh my god a baby.” She exclaims running towards me and looking at me as if asking for permission, when I nod she scoops him up tossing him in the air, which by the way he loved, giggling crazily. “Oh I could just keep you.”
“Wanna watch him tonight For us? I want Alex to come to a party but she has to-“
“Oh my god of course.” I put the baby bag down as she squeals. “If you ever need a babysitter I’m here 25/8.”
“Thank you.” I tell her as she shakes her head.
“No thank you.”
We walk up to Lucas room as he leads me to the bathroom. I start to undress putting on a black and pink thrasher cropped shirt with shorts.
I walk out to see Lucas pulling his shirt down and smiling at me.
“There’s going to be soooo many girls.”
“Oh yeah?” I smirk as he laughs.
“Yes. Let’s hope my mom always want to watch Adrian so we can always go out.” He says taking my hand and leading me down the stairs.
“Uh I don’t really like the going out scene.” I tell him as he laughs. “Why can’t we have a little friends party?”
“You’ll learn to love it.” He smiles ignoring my question, seems like everyone has been doing that today.
As we get outside we see the boys waiting in a mini van as I stifle a laugh. I wonder who’s mom let their son take her car.
“What’s so funny? We riding in style.” Jamil smirks (as i should’ve known it was his mom) as I sit in the back with Reuben.
“So, is Mystery girl going to be there?” I whisper as he nods smiling.
“That’s the only reason I’m going.”
“Oh wow, I’m excited.” I giggle hugging his arm excitedly. “Maybe I could be your wing man.”
“Uh, I don’t know about that.” He smirks shaking his head. I gasp at his immediate decline.
“Please! I know how to do it because I’m a girl and she’s a girl.” I beg.
“Oh then you need to help me.” Lucas turns to me as I shake my head.
“Sorry I’m one wing man a night.” I tell him.
“But what if his shot is made in the first 10 minutes?” He ask.
“Fine then, I’ll help you.” I nod smiling.
❧
“Oh you made it!” Paige hugs me as I make it inside the house.
“Oh yeah, I’m here to drink and be two people wing mans.” I laugh as she hands me a drink.
I walk off looking for the girl that is in Reuben and I class but not actually sure if I’ll even find her in this crowded house.
“Hey aren’t you new?” A guy stops me smirking.
“Uh yeah I’m Alex.” I smile.
“I’m Andrew, so how you enjoying the party?” He leans against the wall looking down at me.
“Uh it’s okay. I’m kind of looking for a friend, but I’m not sure where she ran off to.” I joke as he nods.
“Well you can kick it here with me.” He smiles.
“Oh yeah?” I ask as I feel an arm around me.
“Hey come on!” Jamil pulls me away as I wave at Andrew as I see a frown settle on his face. “What were you doing with Drew.”
“Oh well he stopped me, sorry.” I shrug as I spot the girl. “Stay here I’ll be back.”
I push through the crowd and smile at her.
“Oh hey Alex.”
“Oh wow I feel like a d**k because I don’t know your name.” I whine as she laughs putting her hand in my shoulder.
“No I only know it because I’ve actually asked. I’m Dalia.”
“Hello Dalia, I was wondering if you were interested in anyone?” I smirk as her cheeks heat up and she looks around. “Come on tell me.”
“Oh no you know who. He’s in our art class.” She smiles.
“Oh yes, I hope we are talking about the same person.” I plead.
“Yes, Reuben, i have liked him for a while, I’m just scared of rejection.” She shrugs.
“Well today is the day Because we don’t have time for rejections.” I giggle grabbing her hand and leading her to where I last saw him.
“Alex.” She pulls me back giggling loudly as I turn to see Samuel walking towards us. “Hey Samuel.”
“Hello Dalia, Alex.” He nods at us both. “If you’re looking for Reuben he’s in the bathroom.”
I knock on the door of the bathroom as it opens to a smiling Reuben.
“Hey Alex, Dalia! Oh h-hey.”
And my work is done. I walk away probably going to find the girls, hopefully on the dance floor.
“Hey.” I turn to Drew as I smile up at him as I continue to dance.
“Hello.” I drink the rest of my drink down as he raises an eyebrow.
“Would you like another drink?”
“Oh yes!” He hands me his as I drink it down smiling. “Thanks.”
“Are you trying to get drunk?” He laughs as I shake my head.
“Uh no I think that would be my last drink.” I tell him.
“Good.” He wraps his arms around me catching me off guard.
“Yeah? Would you like to dance?” I ask him swaying to the beat.
“With you anytime, but let’s do something else.” He whispers the last part pulling me against him and I feel a dizziness come over me.
“Oh, I don’t think....” I trail off squinting my eyes at him. I feel a little woozy as I see his smile drop.
“What are you doing? What did you do?”
“What do you mean?” He ask as I push him away sloppily but he pulls me back into his arms.
“You Okay?” I turn to three Lucas's who were all glaring at the Drew's.
“I don’t know.” I tell him honestly trying to reach for him so I could hold on to his shirt, but I miss and tumble but he catches me and He pulls me away from Drew and I rest my head on his chest closing my eyes.
“What did you drink? You’re not okay.” He exclaims as I shake my head.
“Uh, yeah I’m totally fine, I think I’m ready to go.” I tell him stumbling a little as he holds me up.
“I don’t think you’re doing well.” He says as he leads me into the backyard.
“You Sure That you’re okay?” He holds my face in his hands as if he’s searching for the answer as I nod feeling a little tired. “Hey, did you take a drink from him?”
“Maybe.” I hear myself slur. It was as if I was having an out of body experience and I wasn’t sure how to take it.
“f**k. Lay here. I’m going to get the guys.” He lays me on the lawn chair before running off. Not to long after I feel my head getting lifted and rested on someone’s lap.
“Haven’t anyone taught you not to take drinks from strangers?” I hear Jamil scowl me as I open my mouth to answer him but nothing comes out only random grunting sounds. “You’re driving us all crazy.”
“I’m sorry.” I mumble managing two words as he brushes his hands through my hair.
“I dealt with him.”
“We can take her home.”
—
“Are you a fool?” I wake up from my foggy slumber and I turn to Jamil and Lucas glaring at me as I reach for Adrian but he is no where to be found on my bed. I squint my eyes at the boys realizing that they were all in my room probably at the crack of dawn and is ready to cuss me out.
“Uh, what happened?” I ask closing my eyes slowly as i open them back vaguely remembering what had happen the previous night. “Oh yeah, best night ever.”
“Best night ever?” Lucas growls as Jamil puts a hand on his shoulder.
“Don’t take drinks from anyone that isn’t us.”
“Oh, I-I thought he was nice.” I mumble as Lucas scoffs sitting on the bed. “Where’s Adrian?”
“He’s down stairs.” Jamil tells me bringing my mind at ease.
“Not every guy is nice.” Samuel tells me with a glare shaking his head. “Drew especially is a f*****g asshole and you should stay away from him.”
“Yes fathers.” I grumble laying back down. “I didn’t know he would do this.”
“No you need to know this.” Lucas pulls me up as I pout. “And you should know! Guys are evil.”
“Okay I’m sorry. No more taking drinks from strangers. Also things like this didn’t happen at my old school.” I tell them.
“You used to take drinks from strangers?” Lucas exclaims sitting me up once again.
“Jesus. Yes it’s not that serious, they never spiked my f*****g drink.” I snap at him dimming my eyes. “I already apologize so no more being mad at me.”
“And that’s what I needed to hear.” Jamil pats my head. “Now you can get up because we have school.”
“But i thought it was Sunday?”
