“Mom.” Nathan croaks out sliding his arm that was around me to my hand squeezing softly. “Where have you been?”
“Doing This doing that... who is this young lady?” She smiles at me. Her bright brown eyes taking me in.
“My girlfriend, now you didn’t answer my question.” He says as Ted comes into view.
“Hey how about we gather in the kitchen.” He smiles softly.
“Yes I cooked.” She says grabbing Nathan arm pulling us to the kitchen.
“You okay?” I ask as he nods briskly and we all sit at the island.
“Dad what the fuck.” Nathan whispers as his father shrugs.
“She’s home, please let me enjoy it.” He grumbles back to Nathan. He slouches in his chair watching his mom as she danced around the kitchen cooking happily. “Glad your back Lydia.”
