The day of Stephanie's birthday arrived. The venue was ready to welcome the guests & as per plan Stephanie & Josh would be the last to arrive. Seline was the first to reach the venue & checked on all the arrangements for the last time .She called the others . Today Dan was Emma's escort to the party . He was undeniably looking good . He's tall & well build figure added to his charm. He made sure he looked perfect. But as Emma stepped out of her door he was awestruck by her. She moved with great elegance managing her breezy green dress which was perfect for the party. Her soft curls & little makeup made her look so pretty. Her legs so toned & her dress made her look so effortlessly gorgeous. Pushing her golden locks behind her ears she stopped & looked at Dan . His looks were no match for her. Dan still lost in his world kept staring her. He was living his dream . He wanted to make most of this moment. His eyes didn't close even for a sec. As she sat next to him ....he could see her backless dress clearly. He so longed to roll his fingers down the depth of her dress .He so wanted to kiss her & hold her close . Failing to manage his emotions he hugged her & complimented her . His mind was not at peace & his heartbeat was audible to him . He was all prepared for today .....but in his heart he was quite nervous. As they arrived at the venue.......guests started arriving & Emma turned out to be a wonderful host. All the guests arrived now it was time for Josh to bring Stephanie. As she entered the venue blindfolded. Everyone gave a loud cheer. She was already smiling......... failing to keep patience, he hastily removed her blindfold & in front of her eyes her bestfriend stood with her birthday cake . Stephanie was in tears.....she was happy beyond words. Even in her wildest dreams she never thought of a party so perfect . She just couldn't express enough gratitude to her friends. She felt so special. She went to every corner of the venue just to see & enjoy it all while it lasts . She never wanted this day to end. The party started & was in full swing . Drinks & snacks .....games & fun .....laughter everywhere.....The party was a huge success. They were all brimming with happiness. Now it was Dan's turn to take the lead. As planned he asked Josh ,Emma & Stephanie for movie night & they all agreed. Before leaving Emma helped Stephanie collect every gift & load it in Josh's Car. Soon they left for Dan's home . As they stood on his doorstep Dan took Stephanie's blindfold & told Emma that he's got a surprise for her. Before she could think anything her eyes were closed & Dan was leading her into his house.

"Ready!? Em!!"

"Yep! I'm really excited. Just open this quick .I'm dying to see "

The rest of the two .......as soon as they entered the room knew what was going around .They both were happy for Dan & Emma . They kept quite.

"Quickly Danny"

"Hmm ohk on count of three! No peaking !! Ems"

Laughingly Said Dan.

As she opened her eyes. Her face grew darker & she was speechless. Her face was all puzzled up & disturbed. Her face revealed her expressions which suggested her dislike. She turned towards Dan who was on his knees proposing her. She helped him stand up hugged him .....& slowly whispered in a gloomy tone " I'm sorry to hurt your feelings. But we are just friends. I'm afraid I won't ever feel this way for you. "

"But I seriously love you EMs & I'll always keep you happy "

"No Dan .....I'm sorry !! it's really late & I gotta go. "

"But I thought you liked me"

"We're just friends & that's what we'll always be"

"Okay !!!........ I totally respect your decision."

Finally this brought Emma's smile back & the tensed atmosphere eased up . All four of them now watched the movie together & soon the other three thanked Dan & left. Josh dropped Emma two blocks before her house as from there he had to take a turn to reach Stephanie's home. Emma waved them goodbye waiting eagerly to reach home & call Stephanie to discuss over the night's events................
