WE ARE!

ALEX POV: The car was silent on the way back, and the two of us wallowed in our thoughts. We escorted the goods to the base and went home. Immediately after we got back, Paul went to his room, and I went to the study. I found my dad drinking on the couch, as if waiting for me. I sat on the seat across from him and waited for him to speak. “How did it go?”, he asked. “I am sure you already know everything that happened. Did you follow us with a drone this time?”, I answered. He smiled, looking at me. “What do you want to know?”. “You won’t answer the question that I have been asking, so let’s just go with this. What’s going on with Ghost? This is Chris’s territory, so I am sure you told him we were coming for vacation. Why is he looking for us desperately?”, I asked. “I don’t know exactly what’s going on, but from my information, Ghost is a control freak and has trust issues. So I am guessing he wants to know our every move so his mind can be at ease”, he answered. “That’s fair enough. Goodnight”, I said as I stood up to leave. Before leaving the room, I realized something and asked, “Were you aware of the probability of Natasha’s appearance?” “The boy has to solve his problems sooner or later not run away from it under the skirts of these girls”, he said. I looked at him, not knowing how to feel, and said, “I won’t be back home tonight”. “You know how to take care of yourself”, he said, and I left. I entered my car and experienced the nightlife alone. Xander POV I smiled while holding Josie’s hand and walking into the school. I noticed that our friends had gathered outside and were chatting. Chad, Jarvis, and Diana’s group were there together. I led us there, and we joined in the discussion about our weekends. After some minutes, Paul walked up to us and greeted us. Jarvis asked about Alex. He smiled and said, “She will be here soon. She went to have fun by herself this weekend”. Everyone realized the insinuation and looked at each other, not knowing how to feel except Jarvis, who looked shocked. “My best friend does have a healthy and fun life, so don’t be too shocked. I thought she was turning into a nun”. Most of us laughed and began to troop inside the school. I saw Jarvis distraught and said, “Hey, pal. Get that look off your face. You can’t control my girl. You’re nothing but an immature classmate to her now. Besides, your escapades don’t go unnoticed”. He said nothing and went to class. Josie gave me a look, and I defended myself. “I couldn’t stand him being a hypocrite. The way he behaves, the probability of him getting together with Alex is zero”, she laughed, leading me to our classroom. We kissed and separated into our different classes. I greeted my classmates and sat down. A few minutes later, Alex came in as beautiful as ever. She greeted everyone and sat beside me. I smiled widely at her, and she had no choice but to talk to me. “Soooo, how was your weekend”, she asked me. I chuckled. “You can’t change the subject, but I will still answer you. I had a sweet dinner with Josie. She was a little bit late for our dinner, but she made up for it. So, how was your weekend?”. “Nothing much. I just went to a club and relaxed”, she answered. “You are awfully boring when it comes to details. I am still happy you went out. I was worried about you for a while. I know how crazy you were in France. What happened that made you go out?”, I asked. “I needed to think”, she said. “No more information. Come on. Have you finished thinking?”, I asked, staring at her. “Yes. I have been so trapped by my curiosity about why my dad brought us here that I have not fully enjoyed myself. I am going to have fun, learn, and grow. Nothing is holding me back”, she answered happily. “Alex is back. So where are we going today?”, I asked. “You are the guide. Choose”, she replied, and then the teacher came in. After the first class, we separated and went to our different classes. We had the same class before lunch, so we went to the cafeteria together. We took a detour to pick up Josie. When we got to the cafeteria, everyone was already there (Chad, Jarvis, and Diana’s group now hang out together). We greeted them and sat near Paul, who had saved seats for us. I sat down, shook him, and greeted everyone. Alex hugged him, and they whispered to each other. Katie (from Diana’s group) interrupted and asked, “Alex, how was your weekend”. The two Alexs replied, “Me?”. “The girl, Alex. It’s going to be difficult calling the two of you with you guys having the same name”, she said. “It’s you guys that stuck with the name Alex. I prefer Lorenzo. Alex, how was your weekend?”, Alex (the boy) replied. “You guys seem curious about my weekend”, she asked curiously. “Your brother told us that you weren’t home this weekend”, Diana replied. Alex looked at him, vexed, and he apologised. “I went to this club called Starry and just had fun”, she said, and everyone looked shocked, including me. "Starry, let you in?”, I asked. “Yes. It wasn’t difficult at all. I just chatted with Maurice, the bouncer outside for a while, gave him a generous tip, and entered. He is very nice and cute”, she answered, looking at us and wondering what was going on. “They haven’t let us in before. We have tried plenty of times. You need an invitation to get in, then you need a membership card to be able to enter anytime you want”, I replied in disbelief. “Oh, he did give me a membership card and say it’s on him. Forget all that; why don’t you come to experience it with me? Tonight, are you all free?”, she asked. “WE ARE!”.
