Chapter 2: Poach me!
"Mark?........Rita?" she whispered as she couldn't believe what she was seeing.
What was Mark doing with her best friend?
She was sure she wasn't seeing double.
Lily Costa stood stagnant as tears streamed down her face.
This was her husband to be.
"What in the world is going on here?" Lily Costa screamed her loudest as her palms began to sweat.
Looking up, Rita Spence saw Lily. At first, she was shocked because she had never expected her to come, but on a second thought, she smirked.
Moaning louder, she distracted Mark Twain from noticing anyone's presence as she continued without bothering about who had just entered.
In was then Lily Costa felt like her world had shattered.
Kira Jones didn't see Lily Costa for sometime and decided to go check up on her.
On getting to the room door, she froze. Without wasting much time, she dragged Lily Costa out of the house.
What the hell did she see?
Mark and Rita? Impossible!
"Kira, what did I just see?" Lily Costa asked as she tried to recover from the shock.
"Lily be strong. I'll take you to your home." Kira Jones said, trying to comfort.
On getting outside, she was glad that the driver was still outside. Without hesitation, she placed Lily in the car.
"Please drive to this address." she told the driver, giving him Lily's address.
Not long after, they arrived at Lily's home.
"Thank you!" Kira Jones said to the driver and took Lily to her apartment.
"This is not the end of the road now Lily. Be strong! I won't leave. If you need anything, I'll be in the next room." she said to Lily and left the room.
Lily was still trying to accept what she had seen. Seeing how it was dark outside of her window, she was convinced that she could start fresh the next day.
Closing her eyes, she slept.
The next morning, Lily woke up stronger than ever as she stretched.
She had to let go of the past, she told herself.
But she wasn't going to let go of those cheats. They would definitely pay for this harsh betrayal.
Picking up her phone, she dialed a number.
"Let's meet at Atlantis restaurant." she said and hung up the phone.
"How are you feeling this morning?" Kira Jones asked as she entered the room with a warm smile.
"Better than ever!"
"That's great! I'll be heading to the office soon."
"Bring back all my important information." Lily responded as she gave her manager a meaningful look.
Kira Jones froze.
10am. Lily Costa appeared at Atlantis restaurant .
When she looked at a corner, she could already spot the CEO of Mendes Entertainment.
"Hey! You came just in time." President Mendes said, waving at her.
"Good morning!" Lily greeted and sat down.
"I felt so surprised when you called. Never thought I could ever get this honour."
"You can poach me now if you really need to." Lily Costa said, avoiding long talks.
Pffft!
President Mendes froze.
"What?"
"Yes! I agree to get poached."
"Do you know what this means?"
"I'm sure you are ready."
"Sure I am. I'll email you the contract soon."
"That's good to hear President Mendes, do have a nice day!" Lily Costa said, bowed and left the lobby.
Smiling, President Mendes looked at her in amazement. Finally, they got Twain Entertainment's biggest chip.
Lily Costa had just came out of the lobby when she jammed Ray Allen with full force, causing her forehead to hit his hard chest.
"Ouch!" she exclaimed in pains.
Looking up, her eyes met the gaze of a striking handsome man.
She froze.
How could someone be so tall. She had actually hit her head on his strong chest.
"Didn't you see me?" she lamented in frustration as she rubbed her forehead.
"How are you little pumpkin?" Ray Allen's deep voice was heard.
Lily stepped backwards like she was blown by his aura.
He looks so strange and mysterious.
Standing straight, she walked passed him and left, ignoring his looks.
Ray Allen looked at Lily Costa until she disappeared from sight.
Turning to his Right hand man, "I need every single detail about her." he told Shawn Dice and walked into the restaurant.
Shawn Dice froze. He knew Lily Costa. She was a Star, but what did his Master mean?
Lily Costa drove back to her home to get some lyrics written in her study room. As soon as she sat, an email showed on her computer screen. It wrote, "CONTRACT"
Lily Costa froze.
Was she about to leave Twain Entertainment?
It was not her fault. She could not stand them anymore. Opening the document, she read and signed it.
This, she would never regret.
After a few hours, Kira Jones called.
"Hello Kira!"
"Hey! What's up? What did you do? Check the news!"
"The news?"
"Yes hurry!" Kira Jones' urgent tone came through.
Ending the call, Lily Costa went online on the internet and was shocked to see the headlines that had just surfaced.
"LILY COSTA HAD JUST GOT POACHED BY TWAIN'S ENTERTAINMENT'S BIGGEST RIVAL"
"LILY COSTA HAS BEEN SIGNED AS MENDES ENTERTAINMENT'S ARTIST"
"LILY COSTA AND MARK TWAIN SPARK BREAKUP RUMOURS AS LILY COSTA IS NOW OFFICIALLY SIGNED TO MENDES ENTERTAINMENT"
"LILY COSTA, AFTER HER PERFORMANCE AT FRANCE LAST NIGHT, FLEW TO NYC TO BECOME MENDES ENTERTAINMENT'S NEWEST ARTIST"
The headlines were really going viral and the comments were nothing to joke about as people threw in their opinions without care.
"I'm still on a wait for the full gist mehn."
"Lily Costa joined her fiance's rival. Wow! This story isn't complete."
"I think there's a reason for this."
"Full movie loading..."
"I wonder what Mark Twain's face would look like when he finds out about this."
"This is hilarious!"
Lily Costa smiled.
She hasn't started yet they were already vibrating.
"You deserve this Mark..." she muttered under her breath.
Not long after, her phone rang again.
When she looked at her phone screen, she froze.
